    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

I'd say the spelling makes a huge difference. It's annoying when people don't give a darn. Life would be so much easier, if they did.

    This Triumph in Crosshaven, Cork.

    IMG_7592.jpg

also Morris Minor on the way to Carrigaline, then really bright red VW bus most likely freshly painted (UK plates) on South link. Again on South Link a lovely 1969 (Dublin reg) Chevy Camaro SS for a minute or two. Really nice car, beautiful rumble of the V8...

I always enjoy dipping into this thread to see some of the beautiful cars that you manage to get pictures of.
I did a quick skim through the pages and did not see this, sorry if its already been posted, and also the picture taking was a bit rushed, but the sound of this going down the road was awesome.

    Hey Unkel.
Why does it say that your account has been closed?
That would be a shame indeed.

On the other subject. I'm sure being banned is probably a good idea. The user only had three posts so probably was not that serious in making an intelligent contribution anyway.

Oh, I have that plate. In fact, I'm lucky enough to have them all. God Bless downstairs bogs. :-)

I'd say the sound is something else alright.

However (and I'm expecting flak for this) imo it shouldn't be road-legal. Imagine the damage that set-up would do to a pedestrian. It doesn't bear thinking about.

I feel the same way about bull-bars.

You are quite correct, Esel, a small child could get sucked into that blower!

But was being banned a good idea? Surely a warning would have been enough, chap was a newbie , in one of his posts he makes a spelling mistake and gets an in your face smartass reply , have to say in his place I wouldn't have been overly impressed either.....

OK, no pic but I was in Carrick-on-Shannon today and two car transporters passed me heading towards Sligo. I din't get a look at the first one, but the second one had:

    Porsche 356 Convertible
    190 SL
    BMW 501
    TR6 (I think)

And two more cars under wraps. All had German reg plates as did the truck. I was 5 minutes from the car, raging as I'd have loved to have followed them and seen a bit more. :(

If you are slyly implying (sarcastic smiley and all) that I am stupid, that says more about you than me.

Anyway, as I said, I expected flak. I just expected it to be on an adult level.
