North Great Georges Street often has interesting old cars on it.

I recently saw an exceptionally rare Ford Popular Van on it, unfortunately didn't get a photograph of it.

Also whilst at the VRT office I spotted the various pictures of the cars they have taken over the years. The obviously dont photo them all but I spotted my own 230SL still on the wall. They took that photo in 2001 !

The chassis is probably from 73 ( auld series III or something ) but the body was probably replaced. Alot of that went on in the 90's. I once saw a Discovery on a mid seventies plate. No matter what the body the reg number always stays with the chassis.

Been there and done that. A lot of hard work to do it "properly"
Its too easy for some to just swop out a reg plate and stick it to another vehicle.
I agree that when done right, it's good and has benefits, but it is a lot of work to do right, one way to tell is look at the rear suspension. On the early Range rovers the rear shock ran opposite each other, so on one side it sits a forward and the other side back.No photo at the moment, but will get one to show difference.
    It's a big tell.

    Here's an unusual one.
I got a tour of Waterford fire station with the kids last week (they loved it!)
They have an immaculate restored Dennis fire tender in the garage complete with VERY loud bell and wooden ladder.
I believe shes a “Dennis D3 Braidwood big 4, pump-escape” Apparently the wooden ladder is very rare, one of only two known survivors.
I don't know the year (carchaeologist?) but I'd guess 1930's.
Here she is. (Thats my four year old in her own fireman gear! She's absolutely fascinated with all things to do with the fire service and was in 7th heaven)

Nice pics, not sure if I'd post pics on a public forum with my kids in them tho nowadays.

Thanks for that, really sincerely, but why?
I've always wondered about this. I assume it's in fear of the scenario,
"Hi little girl, I know your daddy, he likes old cars, I have a toy fire engine in the back of my car/van"
But to a four year old, any similar approach could get them into the car.
I never let them out of my sight, (4 kids under 6 years) but I don't wrap them, in cotton wool either. Maybe I'm being naive.
Sorry for going so far off topic.

Carchaeologist is sleeping tonight lol. WI 3135 was issued on 1/1/51, so you take it the Dennis would have been registered in the early days of January 1951.
