Bonus point try and the coaches box are emotionless, bad form. And he couldve given himself an easier kick there, didnt need to ground it in the corner.

Our pack have just been completely anonymous, not up to it in contact, and have been brutal at the set piece. We've got nothing out of the ref, which has only added to how disjointed we already were. Very poor Leinster performance...I know it's the first game of the season and a bit of rustiness is to be expected, but this has been utterly disappointing.

As I feared Leinster no possession too many basic mistakes only consolation that is a second string team

Absolutely shameful performance. No lions is one thing but basically no preseason for everyone else is a joke.

    Great touchfinder from Byrne.

Leinster finally catch a lineout then blow the score through poor handling.

is too early to call for the coaches to be fired? Pathetic effort

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 9,070 ✭✭✭fitz

This type of performance is just going to bring back up the questions about staleness in the coaching ticket earlier in the season than last year.

Looked like a shoulder to the head on Cooney there.

That is one of the best sides we've started in SA and one of the worst results.

Absolutely unacceptable from the coaching staff. No idea what the attacking plan was.

Lack of pre season is the main problem there. Their back up lads would've been playing or training for currie cup. Ours just had the Cardiff game

Ours just had the Cardiff game

    Which was a choice…
A pretty bloody terrible one it seems on first look.

Anyway….onto Ulster. Great first XV out there. Pretty bloody ropey bench.

    Commentator's (/rando internet weirdo's) curse.

Didn't even see the try cause URC TV is crapping out.

Boyle and Culhane were decent enough in a beaten pack the other 6 starters were dominated from start to finish.

Poor slimani was on skates and tbf it was the lack of a second row imo.

On the plus side Tob looks a better player every time I see him play. Prendergast has a great boot on him.

    Ulster 7 v Dragons 7.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,851 ✭✭✭OldRio

Why Ulster don't put their foot through the ball I have no idea. Overplaying constantly.

Good game really. Though Ulster should be stronger than this on paper. Both Dragons tries a bit soft.

    14-14

Izuchukwu and McCloskey looking very good for Ulster.

Great break from Lowry there as well.

    21-14

Great game this. 21 v 14 to Ulster

Bizarre that the TMO spent ages looking at the grounding but ignored the deliberate knock on

    I'm partial to your abracadabra,

I'm raptured by the joy of it all.

Some great rugby played. Lowry was my MotM - constantly pulling the Dragons back line out of shape and making holes for others. Some beautiful passes/offloads as well.

When the Dragons scored their first try, the whole season flashed before my eyes. But we steadied and played some good stuff.

Impressive performance from Ospreys so far. 4 tries in the first half against Bulls

Been consistently impressed with Ian Madigan as a pundit in the last 12 months or so, and this is a new video segment to complement the podcast; definitely worth the 5 minutes of your time, and looking forward to the future weeks of it:

    +1

Been a fan of his for a good while now.

He's v factual based & doesn't fawn over some of his ex team mates in Ulster or leinster.

    A breath of fresh air

The only issue I have is, it's a click for the Indo which leaves me feel unclean

But yes, from what I've seen of him, he's light years ahead of Luke, a player who was light years ahead of Madigan the player. Great players don't always make good pundits.

I think there is an absolute chasm between him and the next best pundit on the air at the moment in Ireland to be honest. He is excellent.

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 9,070 ✭✭✭fitz

Not just in Ireland...I think he's one of the best pundits covering the game atm full stop.
