    How big is your battery and how much did it cost? The way I see it at 4hrs of the cheap electricity, I can get maybe 44kWs into the car. If I'm doing a long commute that's just enough to keep even one car on the road, nevermind that we might have 2 soon. If I had a 10 kWh battery installed would that be able to load up on the cheap power during the night along with putting a further 44 kWs into the car? Potential saving over a cheap 24 hr rate in the region of 54kWhs * 10c? per day = €1971 per year

    I have 48kWh (3x16kWh packs). So about 45kWh useable. They cost around €1500 each. I used DIY Seplos kit. The inverter charges them at 5kW. The Rectifier I added punches another 3kWh, so 8kW total over the 4 hours. One EV charges off the main charge point at 6-7kW and if the other EV needs some charge, we use the granny at 2kW. Load balancing on the main charger keeps the load under control.

    The house runs almost exclusively from the batteries from 6am. Then...at 10pm to 2am, I dump back to the grid at an average of 4kW. Ill probably only dump from midnight in the shorter days of winter. My electricity bills were 800 every 2 months and that was with night rate electricity at 60% of our use. I'm now in credit, thanks to solar an battery export. I've got an 8.8kWp system, so on some sunny days, I'm exporting 5kW and charging the battery on solar at up to 3kW. We have great savings.
