Reddit is generally great but absolutely diabolical for FPL....seems to be populated by uneducated teenage incels with anger issues.

Hopefully we can get another season out of Boards...will have a look at the Discord link also.

Will be very sad when this forum shuts down as it looks like Boards is now a dead man walking.

Hopefully the site can be revived by new owners on a platform different to Vanilla.

Pity too with the FPL game likely to launch next week and I’m excited to see what changes Mark Sutherns has made.

I obviously haven’t looked into it yet but I wonder how easily these targets are achieved.

Is it likely that defenders and DM’s will pick up these bonus 2 points every game ? Every other game ? Every third game ?

Someone with a computer will tell us all very soon.

If it’s every other game then that’s an extra 38 points per season. Not too shabby.

There's going to be a cap of 2 point per game I think.

Not sure about more chips, just feels like more headaches.

Agree. Think one of the things that attracted people to the game in the first place was its simplicity. This just seems like change for the sake of it.

Yep. It’s an absolutely useless chip that causes more headaches than rewards. I’d planned to use it in GW 1 this season and still will but so will everyone else. Pointless.

All the planning and strategy that the likes of us do is potentially less valuable now

There should be fewer chips, not more.

Points for defensive contributions are good but I think they could have tweaked that a little.

lads, the game as we once knew it is gone.

i'll still play, but we need to call this for what it is. they don't care about the 'purity' or 'simplicity' of the game. they just want as many people, particularly new people, engaging with it as possible. and if you make it that players stay engaged for longer, or you get more people into the game, then that's better for them. making it flukier, and also having loads of chips (which might mean more people will stay engaged if they start badly, as they might fluke a big week with a chip), means more engagement.

they just want eyes and clicks. nothing more, nothing less.

if you cared about the pureness of the game, the doubling of the chips is categorically the stupidest decision they could make. it's mind-numbingly dumb.

but that's not what they care about, so meh.
