I got a 512GB micro express a few weeks ago. Not great considering my switch library is well over half of my 1 TB card. Just can't find the 1TB cards here.

DPD van just been to a neighbouring house, I'd imagine I can't expect my Switch 2 until a similar time on Thursday :(

No not a word. An email saying the money will be taken in the new few days or some sort of email to say everything is in order would be nice to calm the nerves

Has there been any word on them improving the eshop experience on Switch 2? Was logged in earlier and it’s still god awful slow.

Nintendo Store stuff shipped this morning. GC Pads, Bag etc - anyone in the main markets should have deliveries by Thurs

Feck it, I bought Cyberpunk on the Japanese EShop, we will see if it is a foolish buy.

It seems that whatever prohibition on foreign payment methods must be applying to new entrants only.

So, I imagine I'll be okay until the card expires in a few years time.

Looks like Switch games may get boosted in terms of faster load times and frame rates out of the box. The Nintendo Today! app states You may experience faster load times or smoother frame rates while playing compatible Nintendo Switch games* on the Nintendo Switch 2 system.

And then goes on to explicitly call out the games that are getting updates/patches.

Additionally, the games featured below will have free updates you can download to take advantage of Nintendo Switch 2 capabilities.

Is there any functional difference between getting the switch pro controller over the switch 2 version? No interest in that game chat feature or whatever it's called.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,126 ✭✭✭Doomofman

It has a couple of paddle buttons on the back that you can remap to whatever, and a headphone jack for audio similar to Xbox/PS controllers. But I think that's about it

Thats was the last one when I listed. Walmart online is out of stock now - and thats for all of US!

I watched the below videos last night about the Pro controller and they have me looking forward to getting my hands on it. Won't be using the chat functionality at all and not sure about the buttons on the back, but it's the feel of it that has me excited. The original Pro controller was a mandatory purchase for me since I mostly play docked, so if they've improved on that again then it'll be money well spent. Will let the young lad use the original pro for some MKW multiplayer fun.

I just buy Nintendo gift cards for the value of what country store you want to purchase in.

How much was it, out of curiosity? I've been inactive on Switch for a while now but I remember it was easy enough to buy games from other European eShops. I wonder is that still the case

About €60 for Cyberpunk from the Japanese EShop, that saves me a tenner.

Good price comparison site here - also has advice on how to buy the games.

What are the odds on picking one up on Friday, I have been hmmmin and haawwwinn a while now and may get FOMO come friday morning

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,682 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

You might have a good shout on Saturday in Smyths. Anybody who doesn't pick up their pre-order in 48 hours (i.e. up to Friday night) will get refunded and their Switch 2 will return to inventory.

Hmmmm, smyths website says my order is "Dispatched/Delivered"..

...and dpd don't even have the package...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,623 ✭✭✭recyclops

Just means they have created an order with DPD normally

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,126 ✭✭✭Doomofman

Yeah, they've created a label and slapped it on a box ready for DPD to collect but Smyths presumably wont hand over the packages to DPD until tomorrow

Has anybody had there money taken on click and collect online.I wonder will you just pay in store.Im still waiting on them to take the money.

I didn't preorder in store but online.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 172 ✭✭pnott

No money taken from me yet on click and collect. Others have said in the past Smyths have taken the money the day before release so probably sometime tomorrow. I want to be hyped for it but not knowing if everything is going to plan is dampening things for me a bit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 419 ✭✭Tech_Head

They don’t take Click and Collect money in advance. You’ll get an e-receipt once you collect it and that’s when they take the money.

    C&C details here:

Will these pads work with the Switch 2? Tempted to just get 2 of them instead of 2 x Joy Con's for now as I can't seem to order the Joy Cons from Smyths for delivery anymore..

I'm planning on selling my PS5, games and a few accessories as I'm getting the Switch 2 on Thursday. There is no way in hell I will have time to play both going forwards! Not a clue of how much to ask for it (would the prices on Adverts.ie be a good starting point?). I have a pic of everything that I'm selling. If anyone would be able to advise me of a fair ballpark price could you send me a PM and I'll send the pic of what I'm selling.

    Cheers,

    M

See what CEX would offer you. Much less hassle than adverts and quicker.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,386 ✭✭✭madmoe

    I’ll give them a go.

    Thanks,

    M

You'll be able to look up prices online as well so you'll know before you go to a shop.
