met Éireann app has the wind direction change later for the east coast , which pushes any Dublin snow out till later . Any experts on here with a better read on this ??

ah yes but you’d always be more likely to get snow in North Cork

Only 20 to 25 miles away. It was raining here at 9 am and then changed from then on. The warmer air on coast in retreating so fingers crossed you get some as front clears.

light snow for a couple of hour, started getting a bit heavier here 10 miles north of macroom

I assume from the esb power check this is the area that has experienced heavy snowfall, is it due to head south this afternoon?

From a friend out in Newcastle West. There's no let up in the snow. Wonder what records there are like.

Damp wet and horrible morning here in Virginia. Had a few flakes at about 3am but thats about it. Looking forward to a few cold, dry and bright days ahead. Id say paths and road will be lethal when it freezes later on.

And that is the area that was/is in the orange warnings so Met E called it correctly

Its not a complete blizzard. There's no wind here anyway for a start. It snows heavily for a while and then lightens. Lovely to look out at the window at all the same and a nice covering now.

The snow is beautiful in the lower dublin mountains but the roads are full of cars parked on the road side.

    AVOID!!!!!

Heavy snow again near the Kilkenny-Laois border.

Around 12cm late last night but thawed back to 8cm this morning as there was an ever so slight rise in temperatures.

Photos all look lovely. Actually delighted we missed it in north kildare and Dublin. If it had of been a week ago id be devastated. Want to get kids back to school and back to work lol.

Enjoy all who got a decent blanketing.

Unusual to be looking out for snow and not having to look at a lamppost.

Quite heavy snow here near Killarney all morning and still going, about 10 cm deep now. It's a bit wetter than I'd like, but good for building snowmen!

Continuous but light snow all morning in west clare. Not sticking too much as a bit wet.

Well there was no snow here in south carlow this morning so I said I’d head out for my weekly swim in kilkenny. The lying snow and slush started about 1km from my house and continued all the way to Kilkenny with a lot of accumulations. The roads weren’t ploughed yet but no one out so it was fine. Definition of unnecessary journey I guess but I knew it would be ok until temperatures fall again. Home again now and some snow on the ground here now.

Big flakes hammering down in Kilkenny City with the last 15 minutes or so.

The footpaths are going to be lethal once it freezes.

There seemed to be a partial thaw overnight - the snow on the car all slid off.

Very heavy snow now near Roscrea. Everything covered again in minutes.

    Temp 0.3°C/Dew -0.6°C

Sounds like snow sightseeing clowns are out in force across the main Dublin mountains public spots (hellfire, cruagh, ticknock etc ). The car parks are a mess and people are abandoning parked cars on the side of narrow roads to get their snow walk in, without a thought for what that means for users of the road. Steer clear.
