Still raining here in Meath and lots of waterlogging, I can safely call this spell a busted flush once again for Meath and much of Dublin. At this stage I just want this muck to clear off and for it to freeze and back to sunshine walks tomorrow. An absolutely manky day outside, I wouldn't put a dog outside in that weather.

Yep ...rain turning to pellets east of cork city

13cm of snow on the roof of the cars and on untouched pavements just over an hour ago. It has been bucketing down snow since last post and covered all efforts to clear pavements. We gave up. It just keeps coming. We ain't going anywhere for days when this all freezes. Decisions re school closures and transport services need to be made.

    South Kilkenny.

Noob question... Why is the band of precipitation moving up the country into the Northerly wind?

Gone from 2.3C to 1.3C south of Cork city not far from the coast, the colder air is definitely digging south! Hopefully snow in the next hour or two!

snowing in cork city northside - big fat wet flakes ❄️🌨️❄️🌨️😄 not going to stick with the ground so wet - not sure it won’t turn to sleet in the next few mins - but I’m going to take it 😄 strangely enough birds are in full voice though can’t see them - we feed every morning and have been throwing a bit extra out over the last few days .

Relatives in Tralee town saying they're getting Emma levels of snow down there. Quite epic by all accounts and still coming down heavy. Schools closed tomorrow there!

30 hours of non stop rain here in Cork, we're up to 47mm now in Cobh. Utterly miserable. Temperature of 2.1c at the moment. No sign of sleet or slush.

Possibility of snow later tonight, but I reckon it'll be gone by tomorrow morning. Met Eireanns temperature charts shows it warmer tomorrow than expected. 3 to 4c at 7am.

Id say we are easily over the 15 cm at this stage.

Never seen this much snow in limerick , and its the fluffy stuff thats hard to compact

    Temp 0.1C Dew point -0.2 C.

Had to build the obligatory snowman of course

I heard some of the roads in those parts are unpassable. Could be problems tomorrow morning with a lot of cars trying to get through for work.
