As suggested in other thread, starting new thread, to continue discussion, and reduce the issue of 'Vanilla Tremble' (…another great new Boards feature!!!).
After event, will merge threads.
Blizzard conditions SW Laois, but I can still hear the gutters gurgling away with the snow melting off the roof.
thats sad 😂
I Wonder if anyone had a time lapse camera of the event in areas like north kerry limerick etc.. be interesting to see it accumulate and see time stamp.
Wet snow now in Cork City
Wow fantastic. Reminds me of storm Emma.
Sounds like snow sightseeing clowns are out in force across the main Dublin mountains public spots (hellfire, cruagh, ticknock etc ). The car parks are a mess and people are abandoning parked cars on the side of narrow roads to get their snow walk in, without a thought for what that means for users of the road. Steer clear.
There seemed to be a partial thaw overnight - the snow on the car all slid off.
Very heavy snow now near Roscrea. Everything covered again in minutes.
Temp 0.3°C/Dew -0.6°C
Compulsory snow selfie from the Hellfire Club.
Still not one flake of snow here in Waterford City. Temp 2.1 C and Dew Point 1.6 C so not a chance.
snowing heavy still in north Tipp
30 to 40cm of snow here now, and it's still coming down heavily. North Kerry 250m ASL
Rain has turned a bit blobby in Greystones. As exciting as it may get! 4.5c atm (dropping).
Ticknock in the Dublin Mountains. I didnt come from the car park at ticknock which Id say is undrivable/closed.
Big flakes hammering down in Kilkenny City with the last 15 minutes or so.
The footpaths are going to be lethal once it freezes.
Well there was no snow here in south carlow this morning so I said I’d head out for my weekly swim in kilkenny. The lying snow and slush started about 1km from my house and continued all the way to Kilkenny with a lot of accumulations. The roads weren’t ploughed yet but no one out so it was fine. Definition of unnecessary journey I guess but I knew it would be ok until temperatures fall again. Home again now and some snow on the ground here now.
Continuous but light snow all morning in west clare. Not sticking too much as a bit wet.
Quite heavy snow here near Killarney all morning and still going, about 10 cm deep now. It's a bit wetter than I'd like, but good for building snowmen!
Unusual to be looking out for snow and not having to look at a lamppost.
Photos all look lovely. Actually delighted we missed it in north kildare and Dublin. If it had of been a week ago id be devastated. Want to get kids back to school and back to work lol.
Enjoy all who got a decent blanketing.
Heavy snow again near the Kilkenny-Laois border.
Around 12cm late last night but thawed back to 8cm this morning as there was an ever so slight rise in temperatures.
The snow is beautiful in the lower dublin mountains but the roads are full of cars parked on the road side.
AVOID!!!!!
Its not a complete blizzard. There's no wind here anyway for a start. It snows heavily for a while and then lightens. Lovely to look out at the window at all the same and a nice covering now.
And that is the area that was/is in the orange warnings so Met E called it correctly
Damp wet and horrible morning here in Virginia. Had a few flakes at about 3am but thats about it. Looking forward to a few cold, dry and bright days ahead. Id say paths and road will be lethal when it freezes later on.
From a friend out in Newcastle West. There's no let up in the snow. Wonder what records there are like.
Are you not near Mallow?? Sure its a complete blizzard
light snow for a couple of hour, started getting a bit heavier here 10 miles north of macroom
I assume from the esb power check this is the area that has experienced heavy snowfall, is it due to head south this afternoon?
I dont belive the PPN will be there for any significant covering at that stage but ya never know.
Only 20 to 25 miles away. It was raining here at 9 am and then changed from then on. The warmer air on coast in retreating so fingers crossed you get some as front clears.
Dangerous near charleville absolute blizzards!!
