Just saw it there. Upsetting. As mentioned, Jordan F1 was the reason I became an F1 fan. Always like Eddie and all his stories he'd tell. He's someone who I always wanted to meet. By the sounds of things recently, he knew it was coming. He had a good life and made alot of laughs. He will be missed along with his unforgettable voice

As others have said and will say, Eddie Jordan is the reason I started watching F1. From my perspective a legend of the sport, and someone clearly held in high regard by many within it.

Ah no, he was a true Del Boy of motorsport, him and DC podcast FFS was always great

    RIP Mr Jordan

I loved F1 during the 1990s and into the 2000s (lost touch when it went off free to air) and the Jordan team was a massive reason for that.

He always seemed to keep his "character" in public, at least, Vs some very cardboard corporate types

The same as many others, one of the main reasons I started to watch F1.

RIP Eddie. Thanks for the memories.

RIP Eddie. Like already said, he was a big reason for why I started watching f1 in the first place.

Gutted to hear this - as with so many others here Jordan was the reason I got into Formula 1 - what made his story even better was that he came from a relatively ordinary background - a clerk in Bank of Ireland originally if I remember correctly who gave Schumacher his first drive - iconic and such a loss.

    RIP

Both Schumachers. He ran Jean Alesi in F3000 and Martin Brundle in F3 before that. He gave Barrichello, Irvine and Takumo Sato their Grand Prix debuts too. EJ really had an eye for talent…

The 195 with Barrichello and Irvine. My first year watching F1.

I vividly remember the Canadian GP that year when they scored the double podium with Jean Alesi on the top step, one of my all time favourite podiums.

"I loved F1 during the 1900s and into the 2000s."

The 1900s? Really has F1 being going that long lol.

I think you mean the 1990s.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

It's a great achievement in a new team. Most of the drivers who moved team are behind their teammate.

He's done well to adapt to the new car. Its just one result, of course. Wonder how he does through the season vs Leclerc

We discuss race specific information in the dedicated race threads.

    This too shall pass.

I'm sure many have seen the Albon video before where he talks about how Max likes the car set up, and Albon likes it in the same style but Max is on a different scale above that, and Albon obviously struggled with it.

Then you see Horner being interviewed by Ted Kravitz this morning about Liam Lawson's struggles and you hear Horner say similar to Albon. It seems to be continually developed towards that style of Max (for obvious reasons).

I know we are only two race weekends in, but Lawson doesn't seem to be getting to grips with the car. I think Kravitz was a bit harsh with his quote about paying off Checo for this (he isn't a fan of redbull anyways). My question is - if and when Max decides to move on, what do Redbull do? The disparity between the two drivers/cars is massive - and kind of has been for a few years.

How easy is it for them to reverse the trend?, and how much of the development can be easily changed to suit other driver styles?

Same with Max -now I often thought you throw Max in any car and he drives the life out of it at the top of the field. The sister team look to have a very good car right now - how does he perform in that?

I guess what I am trying to say is that Redbull are in a position now where they have developed the car towards Max so much that it has sacrificed the chances of winning the Constructors championship - It must be difficult to set the car up towards two different styles as the evidence points to that.

@ctrl-alt-delete if the 2026 reg changes are significant enough, probably an opportunity to reset the bias to some degree.

I stumbled across this on Reddit trying to understand why Verstappens teammates struggle so badly.

Horner was asked this after FP1 yesterday in an interview with Sky F1.

Pinkham: Could it be that the car is just simply better suited to Max and could anyone drive the Red Bull other than Max?

Horner: Well, Max is quite specific what he wants from a car to make it fast. And that is generally a very positive front end on the car.

Horner: Very sharp turn in. Of course, the consequence of that is it will unsettle the rear of the car. And that for a driver is tremendously confident sapping. If you've got a loose rear on the rear end of these cars on entry into corners. And so, that's where he excels.

Horner: That's where, you know, he's able to live on a knife's edge of adhesion. And he's just constantly asking for more and more, you know, front out of the car.

Horner: And of course, that you're always going to follow the direction of your faster driver. And that leads the organisation in terms of its development.

That looks to be correct from watching Lawsons onboards where the car snapping a lot and he's constantly having to correct it. Looks like it's going to be a long season for RedBull

Danny Ric was more aligned with verstappens driving style I believe and didn't he instantly put in competitive times testing the redbull when he made his comeback. Perhaps the only.man that can drive the redbull along side verstappen was sent off to retirement.

If anybody goes to the Banbridge outlet in Northern Ireland, there is a shop Named Castore that has stock of last years Red Bull and McLaren clothing.

Prices are reduced from normal ranges and may be inviting to some.

Castore also have a branch in Kildare Village centre. Funnily enough the McLaren team shirts with the Union flag are hard to shift.

    This too shall pass.

I’ve heard from a few different people that Castore’s gear is quite low quality, decals peeling off after a little bit of use and that kind of thing. Which is a shame considering they’re the only official gear for those teams.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,008 ✭✭✭Captain_Crash

I’ve heard that with the soccer gear yeah but I’ve a some red bull merch and I think it’s great…?!? Also have Aston Martin (my Jordan heritage🙏) but that’s not castore I don’t think is it? Can’t remember lol

it’s shite so it is, first wash of my rb polo and parts starting to peel off. Washed on a delicate wash and dried on radiator. Definitely wouldn’t be paying full price for it.
