Yeah there is just rumours that there was a deadline for that clause to activate which has passed. So they would have to pay up

They can afford to buy him out if needed. I'd they have to buy him out then they are worse again at driver management than I thought.

Are you sure Max's winnings and value are enough to buy Checo out? There's already evidence that the accountants at Red Bull are "ess-h-one-tee" as they breached the cost cap a couple of years ago. The allegations against Horner were never externally investigated so there's still a sliver of doubt and of course Newey has had enough.

    This too shall pass.

Only reason it could be an issue is if a buy out is counted towards their cost cap.

Colapinto making a fool of Perez at the start?

    Anyone watching the sprint?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,317 ✭✭✭Hijpo

Yeah, Lec had a decent scrap with Hamilton there. Perez is dirt, he's so far off they decided changing the front wing isn't a problem.

Piastri has to do a lot to hold off Russel, few marginal calls on closing the door late into turn 1.

Absolutely embarrassing for Checo to be overtaken in pits like that

The second one was fairly late, but legal.

Lando hasn't given Piastri DRS here so George might get one more shot.

The McClarens swap it up at the very last.

    Piastri, Norris, Russell.

Lol that was very close swap at the end, wtf.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,954 ✭✭✭✭dulpit

Jesus nearly had a heart attack at the end, thought something was wrong with Norris. Risky move.

Dull sprint though. Another highlight in Perez's reel though. What was he doing?

Looks like Zak didn’t know that was going to happen?

Fair play to Lando paying Oscar back for Brazil.

Weird during the russell interview. I wonder did something happen behind them

An okay sprint race and Lando doing the favour to Oscar at the end.I’d have maybe not left it as late as it was. +1 on Perez being overtaken in the pit lane. Well only one more race weekend after this and he will be gone.

I'd expect them to not give him that at this rate, he just seems to be getting worse.

I wonder how he feels coming in for a new nose to turn it into a glorified test session. He must know it is over.

Kravitz interviewing Horner and asked what happened with Checo at the start - Horner lost for words for once. Utterly utterly embarrassing for the Mexican. At this stage I don’t care who gets the second seat long as it’s not Perez.
Red Bull properly struggling this weekend.

    That seat is wide open.

They won't give it to Yuki and I don't think Lawson is ready for it yet.

Colapinto's recent crashes have probably ruled him out.

Would they give Danny Ric another run at it?

Sainz deserves that seat, the Williams is a tractor at the moment!

You are a khaki coloured bombardier, it's Hiroshima that you're nearing.

If Danny Ricc wasn't good enough for RB, he's hardly going to slot into Checo's seat. Sainz wasn't picked up initially, won't be now that he's in contract.

It's going to cost to get rid of Checo. I'm betting he'll still be there next year. Hoping not.

Good evening all. Dinner is in the oven and looking forward to qualifying.

Not going to happen but man I’d love if Alonso took the second seat beside Max. Great combo that would be.

Jensen really is so much better than nearly all the Sky pundits.

Jensen button, Naomi Schiff, and Bernie Collins are much easier to listen to than most of the rest.

The speed they carry through turns 12, 13 and 14 is proper impressive!
