Hi Folks,

Today I received the grant letter and paid the €80 at the Post Office. Any idea how long it generally takes for the license to arrive.

Usually within a week - 10 days.

Got it today. 3 days also. Leixlip garda station are very efficient.

Nothing to do with Leixlip. Once approved on PULSE the grant letter is sent out and when payment made then FAC is dispatched from Blackrock

Indeed, after the FO initiated your grant letter the rest is automatic with no further AGS input.

On a separate note. There's no mention on the firearm cert of it being for clay shooting or shooting on land .How does one prove they have the permission to shoot on land if confronted?

It won't, not on the license.

If the license was granted for the reasons you applied for it, and there are no conditions on the grant letter, then it's approved for those reasons.

If a Garda stops you and you produce the license, a quick check on PULSE will show the Garda the reasons for which the license was granted.

Hence it's a good tip to always carry your license(s) when out with the firearm.
