Watch this without feeling old and emotional I dare ya. How lucky we are to have lived through the Ferguson years from start to finsih.

I don't disagree about setting expectations. I just think that it's too early to be overly harsh or rigid with those expectations for one game against Spurs.

I think setting it up as anything other than a win against Spurs is a failure of the coach is too simplistic and absolutist.

I wouldn't be surprised if Spurs beat us to be honest.

That's a bold statement... Putting your neck on the line there 😂😂😂 we both equally as bad as each other or can be equally as good as each other on a good day. I reckon it's 50/50

Cant see us beating Spurs. Loss would be my expectation.

Looking back at 21/22 season. Ronaldo was said to be a bad signing, 24 goals in 38 appearances. Would probably bite your hands off for that now.

It will be crazy ball and impossible to predict.

United should win given Spurs injury list.

Here is a list of all the injured Tottenham Hotspur players:

    * Johnson: Thigh injury, Late February 2025 return

    * Udogie: Hamstring injury, Doubtful status

    * Maddison: Calf injury, Doubtful status

    * Werner: Hamstring injury, Late February 2025 return

    * Odobert: Hamstring injury, Late February 2025 return

    * Van de Ven: Lack of fitness, Late February 2025 return

    * Solanke: Knee injury, Mid October 2025 return

    * Richarlison: Calf injury, Early March 2025 return

    * Dragustin

    * Romero

It seems like Tottenham has quite a few players dealing with injuries at the moment!

I thought about this kind of thing a bit over past couple weeks especially with how bad we are doing at moment. I think cr7 was a bad signing. Yes he scored goals but he wasn't the right signing for the team. the players around him didn't score goals. He was a trophy signing for a team that didn't deserve a trophy.

The issue with United since Sir Alex retired is that we haven't built a team we have built teams thay are mix matches but not one unit.

Would Ronaldo improve our current team? Yes. Would he turn us into top four team? Nope.

If we can ignore the circus around the first team at the moment the plan seems to be to get rid of the players that don't suit the system and get young hungry players that will start hitting first team peak in next couple years. I think this summer we will see major change in incoming. Won't be star signings but they will have the right profile.

I wonder did they know that though. They were happy to keep going with ten Hag. They bring Amorim in and he has told them/everyone that it will be difficult but I wonder did they actually expect

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 967 ✭✭✭jayo44

I believe they did. Amorim is way too relaxed and free flowing to be someone that's unsure if he is going to be backed or knifed in the back and kicked out.

That's why he is in halfway through season. Imagine he joined next summer and the likes of Rashford and Co kicking around the team and having to deal with all that next year too. It's sacrificing this season to hopefully kick on next season.

didnt realise their injuries were that bad. plus son has fallen off badly this season.

if we were in any sort of form we should be beating them.

right now, toss a coin. could be a draw or 4-0 to either side.

Spurs flaky as they are, on their day can look really good, I'm not sure you can say the same about United.

It's the resistable force vs the movable object!

He pretty much took all the shots on the team so swings and roundabouts as he was out only golascorer.and sure we'd take it now but I doubt he would hit those numbers now either, plus he is a not a good person who went on piers morgan to get a move to another club and locked himself into the Saudi retirement league because no one would touch him after,.good riddance.

Ronaldo was a poor signing for the team. We didn't need a player for that position and weren't looking for one that Summer.

We signed him to stop him going to City. If he was going to PSG or another club, there wouldn't have even been a phone call imo.

Raginick told the hierarchy that we should sell him and it was a mistake to sign him, and of course he was right from a footballing perspective.

It seems it will always be too early.

Because if we can't expect a good performance this week we will never be able to expect one. Sometimes you have to call it like it is and this is absolutely a game that United should be playing well in.

Spurs are in dire form, they are missing a ton of players, their remaining players have been playing every game for months, their manager is a dead man walking. United have 3 players out, and have had a week off.

If people aren't prepared to demand a good performance tomorrow then we may as well pack it all up and go home.

Of course it won't always be too early. My own view is he needs to be given at least the summer window and, on the assumption he gets some of his players he wants in, and some of the players he doesn't want out, then I'll be asking questions early next season if clear improvements aren't being seen.

It just appears from the outset you've been waiting on any opportunity to jump on Amorim without any consideration of the context around the poor performances.

We really should be winning this game given that injury list. We seem to better away from home too.

After Amorims comment that united are a bigger club it's almost written in the stars we'll lose and Ange will comment on it.

If he selects Casemiro and Eriksen at CM it's over already.

Bruno and one of the above it will be, can't see it being anything else, unless it's something like pushing Dalot or Maz in there but can't see that happening, no one else really

Man tomorrow is gonna be a disaster.

We really needed to add a cm in January given we obviously felt casemiro and eriksen were not usable there.

I'd consider playing mazraoui in there tbh.

Looking at Arsenal here - Casemiro up front tomorrow maybe...

Uniteds injuries don't count. Didn't count last year either when we had over 10 players out.

and I still hear Amad might be injured.

    Could be…

    ________Onana

    ___De Ligt__Maguire__Mazraoui

    Dorgu__Casemiro__Bruno____Dalot

    ____Zirkzee_______Garnacho

    _________Hojlund?

With Bayindir, Yoro, Lindelof, Heaven, Eriksen, Scanlon?, Chido? Kukoni?

Heaven apparently likes to play midfield, so might get some minutes there?
