You calling another poster "partisan" is absolutely priceless.

They have been in control of the House for the last 16 months. Not exactly without power

Firstly, I hope there is a ceasefire because aid needs to get in urgently

If there is a ceasefire without aid then its nothing more than a continuation of the siege and annexation of Gaza

I'm not so confident Harris is the right guy to take on Trump after his shenanigans...seems like a really bad move, between the Israel stance, backing Harris and calling him a gowl..

He has plenty of haters out there as you well know

If we could drop the childish 'haters' bit you'll find people, correctly, criticism of him and his followers (a) entirely permissible and (b) in the most cases entirely correct given his actions, ethos and rhetoric.

and he does piss off the right people

You mean anyone different to you; like many DT fans, you're not as long as others seem to be adversely affected it ticks your box. As you've already freely admitted, your bar for admiration is so low that this alone satisfies your view of him and his cohort.

Edit: You're moaning about "haters" first yet take glee that pisses people off…..You don't see the confliction of course.

    - those entitled folks at the top of the Democratic party and their corporate cheerleaders. Remember Hilary? - it was her turn. Same with Kamala - it was her turn too.

    You've made this up.

You'll have to endure the next four years

The mask slips again; those with differing opinions have to "endure" his presidency, despite what it has/might bring despite any adverse affect on peoples lives.

To add to this, anything I have to "endure"; so will you. Any policy changes that adversely affect Ireland and Irish citizens are "endured" equally by us, but you didn't think that far before hitting the keyboard did you.

and as you're doing that just remember it's the incompetent out-of-touch leadership of the Democrats that's the reason why.

Primarily it's those that voted for him. This point continues to confuse you.

Everytime you see him speak as the leader of the free world,

For now the fourth time I've had to point this out and others - This statement is wholly incorrect but you're never going to be embarrassed enough by it as we see what you're doing - it's another one of your attempts at sly digs - as long as it pisses people off is your whole shtick.

all those decisions made you vehemently disagree with, all the buffoonish statements, corruption, clowning around - all that, just remember:

You're betraying a lot more of yourself than you realise; you recognise all this but can't help but fall in behind it and support it..making you…..

The Democrats lost to this man twice.

No one is disputing this….except, ironically, the man himself….but, like most facts, you'll continue to gloss over that one as well.

Asking them to drop the "childish haters bit" is like asking for grain-free Weetabix. All they care about is that they think they're upsetting people over the internet. They don't care about real Americans, they don't care about the economy, they don't care about healthcare or any other issue you care to name. All they care about is winding up people they can't engage with using facts because the facts are that they've spent a decade shilling for a man who'd order their execution tomorrow if it'd net him $1.

The proof is in the language and tactics that they use. Notice how facts are never presented. It's always just one-liners and grandiose claims that anyone who hasn't spent years mindlessly imbibing Trump's MAGA drivel would easily see through. Once the one-liners and grandiose claims are so much as questioned, they go on about "the left" or "democrats" getting hysterical which is just pure projection based on what we saw in the past four years.

I don't think there's much to figure out with regards to motivation. As I said, they've spent almost a decade consuming and regurgitating this demented nonsense by this point. The sunken cost fallacy prevents them from backsliding or even questioning what they're told so they're in it for the long haul. Anyone who gloats that Trump is triggering people or whatever MAGA nonsense is not someone I expect to learn anything from.

It shouldn't be this easy for someone of Trump's low intelligence to dupe tens of millions of Americans but I suppose this is what happens when you demonise education and learning.

Harris's Israel stance is pretty consistent with where most of the country stand on it. The rest of your point appears to amount to the fact Trump is somewhat of a man child in terms of holding grudges.

The Adelsons were deeply involved with Trump around the old embassy and ambassador's house, Mrs Adelson donated 100m this time round and wants Trump to organise some beachside real estate, as does Jared Kushner, little doubt the seeds of Vegas on the Med.

Time was when hearings for senior posts like Secretary of Defence would have had both Republicans and Democrats demanding a qualified, convincing candidate for such a sensitive post.

Watching the hearing yesterday though it was very much Democrats asking hard questions and Republicans telling him he was great, and a natural pick for the job. It doesn't apparently matter that the defence of the USA, and, as they keep telling us, the rest of the world, was in inexperienced, bigoted and integrity-free, possibly drunken hands, so long as Trump and Jesus want him.

Ive no doubt such a highly capable politician as Harris will be making Trump quake in his boots.

Another portfolio for Harris to destroy.

    calling him a gowl.

Likely won't have much impact with Trump even if he comes across it. I'd never heard it before this 'controversy'

Presuming its a hibernicisation of 'ghoul' and rhymes with howl?

Ha, I was wondering if Donnie would claim credit for work done by the Biden Administration, and sure enough he did. Much like last time when he claimed credit for the economic impact of the Obama years.

Am I surprised that “centrists” would take the opportunity to climb onto that bandwagon? No, can’t say I am.

Are we going to remind them of all this when Donnie inevitably does something against the interests of World Peace? You bet ya!

You must be joking? Apparently Trump's envoy was cracking skulls to get a deal.

What have the Democrats overseen the last 15 months except being weak with Israel?

If Kamala was elected you can be guaranteed there'd be no ceasefire just a continuation of same.

Yeah. The idea that we shouldn't question the man who lied over 30,000 times during his presidency is pathetic.

Apparently is doing a lot of heavy lifting here.

Your only source is Trump himself: a known liar and self-publicist.

So what has Trump done to secure this ceasefire?

'We will work closely with Isareal and our allies'…no mention of the Palestinians or the wider ME.

No mention of any reparations being paid by Israel for the destruction. Not agreement on Bibi going to the Hague to face the charges. A cynic would say that Israel has achieved what it set out to do and is now ready to cease operations as they has nothing else to do.

You honestly think that the observer linked to a not-yet President would have any more clout - or even any at all - than the official team from the actual President? God, ye are desperate.

When it all blows up again in a month, get ready to watch Trump crying about how the corrupt Biden Administration brokered a terrible ceasefire deal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,777 ✭✭✭Patrick2010

I’m confused, I thought GOP policy was to support Israel unconditionally and now Trump is getting praised for getting tough with them???🤷‍♂️

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,538 ✭✭✭techdiver

So MAGA have the White House, The Senate and Congress. How will the manage to blame the dems when they make a balls of everything again this time?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,538 ✭✭✭techdiver

So true. In fact you can already see it with Vance claiming they can't fix the things the promised straight away due to the "dumstper fire" that Biden left behind.

Trump is getting praised for getting tough with them?

    He is? By who?

Anyone with a brain in their head knows US effective policy with respect to Israel is indistinguishable between the 2 parties.

ThThose Who can hold their heads high for trying to call out Israel for their actions are few and far between. All of these people who fall in to this category are Democrat.

Anyone who decries Israel interference in US politics should throw their support full scale behind Bernie, AOC and the likes who continually call for keeping foreign money out of us elections.

Can you tell me of the Republicans who say the same thing or similar?
