Well there you have it, another poor Championship year. The winner should come from Bingham v Ronald. They're definitely the finalist from that side of the draw.

Allen should have beaten Higgins. It would have been a far better match than Higgins against Wilson. Allen I think would have beaten him as well. He must be still kicking himself. This was a great chance to win the WC.

could very well have Wilson-Gilbert and Bingham-Jones as the semis. No wonder the Saudis are so keen to get their hands on this competition!

I fancy Higgins to win his match now, only 2 behind.

Rob Walker is unbearable, possibly even worse than Phil Yates.

    Just a sneaky little one…

Jesus, Bingham you can't be missing those.

    Every year phones going off

Why don't they throw those morons out

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,031 ✭✭✭waynescales1

Did Dominic Dale just say he never hears phones going off when he’s attending the ballet?

Shut up and play the shot Ronnie!

It blows my mind. There is no reason a phone should go off, none. There should be zero tolerance, ideally some sort of secret police should be there to take them outside and have them shot, but as an alternative as you say they should be thrown out.

to be fair Ronnie was very sporting in that incident

Scrappy enough frame but Bingham levels up at 6-6.

You see it at funerals all the time. Phones going off. And not just one, I've heard several phones go off in the same funeral.

I was at a funeral last week, and a phone went off in the row in front of me. The woman sat there and did nothing as if to pretend it's not me. It went off again, this time whatever she did you could hear the person talking on the other end of the phone. It happened a 3rd time and same thing again. A man in the same row put his hands to his face as if to say WTF. How difficult is it to put your phone on silent or turn it off altogether? There are certain situations where it should come as second nature to do this basic thing.

Sure accidents happen. But if a phone goes off it should be a reminder to everyone else who hasn't silenced their phone to do so. A referee should(shouldn't have to) remind people to do this if a phone goes off. If it happens again to them or another person, no excuses, ask them to leave.

I know Maguire needed a snooker, but it seemed odd for him to pot the yellow and then concede the frame and match just because he was a bit hampered with the cue ball in front of the pink for his next shot on the green.

He just had enough, pulling faces,he did well to fight back from 8-1 down

Entire tournament has taken a scrappy turn in the last day or two. Quality has dropped massively.

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,606 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

The referee just had to ask the audience to have their phones on silent, not 2 minutes after the resumption of play between Bingham and Ronald.

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,606 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Bingham has a couple of early chances in that 13th frame and blew them. 7-6 to Ronald.

    Brilliant from Ronnie

8-6. Ronnie moving up through the gears. Arm a bit more free flowing. Pace picking up.

    Liking Robbo on commentary.

    Ronnie beginning to pull away

    Fantastic 125 from Bingham

Hope he wins the last frame to set it up nicely for tonight

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,637 ✭✭✭✭The Nal

Hopefully theyll have some energy left. They'll barely have 90 minutes to turn around.

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,606 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

That's a terrific opening red and position on the black in the last frame this afternoon. Don't mess it up now.

    Another great frame for Bingham

Shame they have to go for a break as it's heating up

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,986 ✭✭✭Genghis

8-8 a good result for Bingham today, in much the same way 4-4 was good for O'Sullivan yesterday. Bingham making many mistakes, but Ronnie not capitalising the way he normally does. Sets us up for a very interesting evening session. Very hard to call.

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,606 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

8-8 going into this evening. That was another excellent break from Bingham, 92, coming up just short on the last red. He had to work for it.

Bingham seems to be hitting his 2015 form, wouldn't be surprised to see this go all the way.
