Zilisch 18 years old wins well on xfinity debut !!!

I'm very surprised they didn't all run out of fuel. I was sure before the last restart that SVG was going to do it again. No doubt who had the best car though. How good can Zilisch be? I've a feeling he's going to be very special.

svg had a strange race . never had the pace needed at the top end .

very impressive to step up that quick from menards

Impressive from SVG to get back towards the front after a drive-through penalty for speeding in the pit lane. It dropped him from 15th to 30th and then the restart madness at 3 to go gave him some luck.

Good racing at the end, and Overtime was well managed by race officials.

What a bizzare playoff race ,an exciting last lap !

Bristol do or die now for Hamlin , Blaney out on lap one set in motion a bad day for playoff drivers with 10 being involved In incidents!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,541 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

It was mad, Briscoe and Cindric the only two playoff drivers in the top ten. Briscoe to ten in all the stages, Cindric in one other beside the final result.

Truex with a stage win was big too.

Cindric is third in the playoffs standings now. Briscoe and Gibbs on the bubble, both +6, Hamlin -6 and Keselowski -12, Truex -14.

Larson completely dominating, Truex doing his best to stay within touching distance. I'd love to see Martin win it.

Larrson wins Hamlin with a no big risk taking run to qualify

Hamlin will be all out to win in kansas

ive never seen anyone have as many bad pitstops in a race as Hamlin today - wide open as a race now going to be lively

Playoff standings after Kansas. I've had this feeling Byron would turn it up at some stage. I think he's the biggest danger to Larson. Blaney a dark horse again though.

    1. William Byron +34
    2. Ryan Blaney +28
    3. Christopher Bell +28
    4. Kyle Larson +18
    5. Denny Hamlin +11
    6. Alex Bowman +8
    7. Chase Elliott +4
    8. Joey Logano +4
    9. Tyler Reddick -4
    10. Daniel Suarez -14
    11. Chase Briscoe -25
    12. Austin Cindric -29

This morning, October 2nd ,23XI and Front Row Motorsports commenced anti-trust proceedings against Nascar and the France Family.

This is the nightmare scenario for Nascar with Michael Jordan having the deep pockets to fight this all the way, anti trust experts have already stated that Nascar will have to change.

On track - Dega this weekend with none of the championship 12 safe from elimination before the round of 8 !

How does the points scoring work each race before the round of 8? Any good links to explain it?

of they 23x1 get a third charter . will hamlin get in it ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,907 ✭✭✭Infoanon

Good spot , many thought RFK had bought the 3rd SHR charter but it now turns out it was 23Xi

Riley Herbst is the likely driver , that's assuming they get the injunction against Nascar to allow them to participate next season.

    Denny is contracted to JGR.

Point scoring , the basics - win and you are in , after there are stage points for the top 10 finishers in stages 1 & 2 ,and then for every additional finishing spot at the finish (Stage 3) you get an extra point over your opponent. Hence why Byron 34 point lead is not safe , especially at Dega were an early elimination could end your championship.

More importantly there is a playoff point for each stage win and five for a race win. Those are huge in the playoffs.

Tre reason playoff points are so big is that when the points reset to zero after each playoff round those points stay. Larson has 38 playoff points so he starts every new playoff round with 38 points.

5 laps to go and it's a big one. It'll be interesting to see who is left to run the final laps.

28 involved in the big one - the biggest one ever!

Joey hitting Brad who then hit the leader Cindric set it all in motion .

Joey (Mr.Even years) is now 9th in the playoffs , Denny who was running midfield at best now finds himself in the top 4 of the playoffs , with only Willy B guaranteed to advance into the final 8.

    Playoff positions:

    1. Willy B Advances

    2. Bell +57 (fairly safe !)

    3. Larson +52 (should be safe)

    4. Denny +30

    5.Bowman + 26

    6. Blaney +25 (despite wrecking early)

    7. Reddick +25. 8. Elliot +13

    Below the cut line:

    9. Logano -13. 10. Suarez -20

    11. Cindric - 29. 12. Briscoe - 32

Stenhouse wins - Hamlins drop out strategy pays off with a good finish

that was tough on the cindric

Well that race was a joke. Why is NASCAR's SS package suddenly terrible?

Everyone goes on about the four-wide early in the race, but if anything that's just the inherent problem. No-one can make any moves because any attempt to go forward basically results in becoming a parachute.

Like there's nothing wrong with a wide-open drafting race... but moves need to be possible by oneself without having to be shoved forward. This was just pack racing, and pack racing is not really a good idea when major accidents are not only possible, but inevitable and expected.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,907 ✭✭✭Infoanon

Talladega in particular has had this issue since the next gen cars were introduced, it's impossible to pass, but because of the drama and the accidents Nascar don't seem to eager to resolve the passing issue.

Brad K getting a lot of stick for causing another pile up , initially I thought Logano was to blame but replays show Brad hitting Cindric at an angle with only one possible outcome , the 6th wreck Brad has caused at Super Speedways in recent seasons.

The Roval next - Kyle Larsons to lose ??

It's a very hard one to call. If Van Gisbergen is in it I think I'd fancy him. Allmendinger won it last year and has some other good results in it. I'd love to see Conor Zilisch get a car in it. His win in the Xfinity series was so impressive. If you haven't heard of him he's one to watch, a future star for sure. He's only 18.

dont see Larrson winning a road race easily - even Elliot , reddick could go well as Svg who would be favourite and Zilich and other trackhouse also go well

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,732 ✭✭✭Charlie-Bravo

Drama on the second last lap in Xfinity race at the Charlotte Roval. Did Kilgermann get to the white flag before the caution?! No! Great racing, now Overtime!

Mayer deserved it, he was the best today.

Svg made a mess off the xfinity - the cup race is more wide open than expected

More a strategy error then a SVG 'making a mess' . SVG finished 3rd despite being on the oldest tyres.

A lot of negative commentary around Nascars officiating around the white flag / yellow being thrown, not helped by the commentary team suggesting 'timing caused by technical delay...…'

    Parker deserved that victory, alas,

Cup race has two Kauligs in the mix - will 2 poles in one day SVG or Roval master AJ continue the trend of non championship contenders winning a playoff race.

Still think Larson will be in the mix.
