If only someone had a dedicated golf channel dedicated to showing live golf! Oh wait..

What a lovely chip-in bonus of eagle for Rory on 16. Right after they showed a clip of him talking about his victory here in 2016 and people saying the 18th was special but he thought the 16th was better for his approach. Well I'd say that topped it.

Should add that's moved him to -6.

Rory handed those 2 shots gained straight back on the 17th with a really poor double bogey 6.

Currently 88 players inside the cut line. Might be a struggle to get it finished on Sunday if there are any weather delays.

Edit: The final number is 90 players making the cut

I think that may be a record number of players making the cut, although I remember an Open Championship a number of years ago when the 10 shot rule was in place and a lot of players outside the top 70 and ties made the cut because of it.

I guess they’ll probably opt for a two tee start and three balls.

There might be too many players for a 2 tee start. Could end up with a backlog as players start their second nine

Do European Tour not do a Saturday cut to reduce it to 70?

Was there today. Very enjoyable day enhanced by the incredible weather and the superbly efficient organisation.

Used the park and ride, and was back in Bray just over an hour after watching McIlroy walk off the 17th green.

    Hats off to the organisers.

I’ve been attending Irish Opens for as long as I can remember and no doubt this is incredibly organised but I feel it lacks the intimate atmosphere we’ve seen in the last few tournaments. The last two years anyone that attended Mt Juliet can count themselves very lucky because, viewing wise, it’s totally different to the K Club. In Mt Juliet the fans were almost on top of the players on a lot of the holes whereas this is a good bit different. I gave out about Mt Juliet not being a spectators course but it’s infinitely better compared to the K Club.

This is not a criticism of the K Club, it’s just the way the course is and how they have to set it up to get this kind of event up and running. The atmosphere yesterday and today was brilliant, I just think there’s a bit too much of a gap between the players and fans compared to other years.

Had you pre-booked/paid for the park and ride? I’ve tickets for Sunday, travelling from the North and it seems to be an ordeal to get there.

Is it easy to get to the driving range?

Nope. I just turned up. My ticket wasn't checked until after I got off the shuttle bus.

We approached from M4 Westbound and while the official directions bring you a circular route there were no tailbacks or queues anywhere.

I guess Sunday may be different though

The park and ride is free and they don’t check your ticket. If coming from the North take the M4 and follow the signs. Well organised.

This advice was spot on, and is exactly what we did. Thank you!

Anyone know what happened Ben Tarrio? Shoots 70,72 to make the cut then shoots 89 today!!

Funny how someone like him can make the cut and the likes of Hatton & Adam Scott can't.

Does anyone know if the premium parking (2B I think, is near to onsite?)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,791 ✭✭✭Motivator

You mean Santi Tarrio? He put 4 balls in the water on 16. Made a 12 on the hole. He’s capable of having meltdowns like that he did something similar during the summer he took a 10 on the very first hole of a tournament.

    Is a second cut happening?

Edit: nope, 3 balls it is!

Is there any chance of bringing g a junior (9) in with an adult on Sunday? They are free but it’s sold out, so can’t buy a free ticket.

Sorry my question was to space coyote, but appreciate if anyone knows what way the parking pass works

2b is right outside the Palmer gate, 5 min walk max to first tee.

    Thank you so much copacetic!

And it was me, Spacecoyote that replied to you above 😆

I see copacetic has answered. All I was able to find was this:

Ticket+ holders will receive an electronic car park pass with their ticket; they should follow AA event signage to Car Park 2B, and then proceed to the Arnold Palmer Gate to enter the tournament.

There will also be dedicated disabled spaces in Car Park 2B for spectators whose vehicles display a blue badge; blue badge holders will need to contact Ticketing@europeantourgroup.com in order to make arrangements in advance and gain admission to site.

Thanks Space! I missed your first message! Just got the tickets last night, friend of a friend with the car park pass.

Just hoping the weather forecast doesn’t do what it is saying 🙏
