It’s not but hoping to pick up an unwanted ticket for under €50. I think the early bird was €30. 50 seems a bit steep and I can’t get there til around noon anyway.

I got my tickets before Christmas and got Thu for €30 and Fri for €40.

Im surprised to see they are now €50 and €55.

It looks like the only way to get there at all is from Maynooth. I could be wrong but you'll have to drive past the K Club in heavy traffic to get to Maynooth in order to wait around for a bus to go back towards the K Club and the same on the way back. I'd guess it's a long enough trip instead of what should be 20 minutes on a bus

I'd imagine it'll be on a screen in the tented village area somewhere, I've seen soccer world cup games on big screens at previous Irish opens, and they didn't involve Ireland at all.

I can never understand this. You either go to watch the golf or you stay at home and watch a match. I remember last year at Mt Juliet half the crowd on the Sunday seemed to be stuck to their phones watching a formula 1 race.

For me the attraction of going to a golf tournament is you’re there and invested in what’s happening right in front of you. I turn the phone on silent and don’t go near it until I’m back in the car.

In fairness, that's kinda the joys of Golf that you can take a break for an hour-or-so to relax and still fit in 7/8 hours of walking watching it throughout the day.

Is the amount of TV coverage not a bit poor? Not starting until 1pm on both RTE and Sky. So no coverage of the early starters, including McIlroy on Thursday.

Outside of Rolex series Sky always start ET in the afternoon.

RTE should not be dependent on sky coverage when its being hosted here.

It's the European tour that control the coverage, not RTE. European tours Thursdays are always around 1pm. I am disappointed but it's not outside the norm

Just back home. While everyone inside the course ran smoothly, the lack of signage for the park and ride is a joke. I was coming through maynooth.

Eventually, had to just plough on up towards the course and get instructions from a garda. There was loads of people in the same boat doing u-turns. There were a couple of signs on the way back down, but not visible from approach on the other side of the road.

I asked him where it was and he obliged with directions. He said they have asked for signage and directions to be displayed but it is falling on deaf ears

Going with my Dad tomorrow who probably won't be able for too much walking. Likely we'll bring fold up chairs and set up camp in one or two locations.

The 8th and 9th aren't a bad option. You can watch shots into the Par 3 8th and walk down the 9th. Could stay around 9th green for a while which is right beside the tented village if you want to break the day with food and a drink. Toilets there too
