Starting this one early to be as efficient as the Austrians.

Personal fave track of mine, went there in 2014 I think when it came back to the calander, I just enjoy it dunno why. it usually provides good races, its the Red Bull home circuit.

Hopefully last years problems wont show up again (orange flares cough cough to say the least...).

Being a sprint week just really means more points for Max to pull ahead. So congrats to Max for winning the sprint and race.

The actual entertainment should be from 2nd back so are we gonna get another Fernando/Lewis good time? Will Ferrari and their drivers actually pull a good shocker out of the bag or will they just Ferrari? Is Perez gonna show some improvement over his last few races or has he just given up? Will Russell mess up again? Were williams upgrades a once off fluke? Are Mclaren actually gonig to do well? loads of questions except who will win 😂 or maybe just maybe one of the teams will steal the home win of all the wins from the bulls/max not likely but we can dream/hope.

Scramble this weekend as my Airbnb canceled my accommodation, got sorted eventually, but need to top and tail the weekend in Vienna.

Looking forward to it, could be wet on Sunday.

wow thats some way away, nothing else close like in Graz or Klagenfurt? That would only be an hour train/busride away.

Anyway, weather is mostly stable. Chances of shower on Friday / Saturday. Would not expect the race to be affected. No heat race either. Cannot see anything upsetting Verstappen there.

FP1 just started. The only practice session before proper quali later today.

Bernie Collins back this weekend thankfully.

Well, you'd expect Max has pole wrapped up at a minimum 😂

I just hope that the F1 Qual is not as much a joke as this F3 is.

Managed to get Fri and Sat night in a **** hole in Graz and was able to pull in some Marriott loyalty for Vienna Thu and Sun. Drive back Sunday evening will be a PITA, but it is what it is, at track side since P1, we're all basking in the sun for now with clouds gathering on the horizon.

Red flag after Bottas loses it over a kerb.

Max always impressive how fast he can go on his first lap. First time he’s had the soft tyres on today too.

Interesting that several lap times deleted because they went off track on the last corner before starting their flying lap. Trying to gain an advantage so only right they were deleted.

Lol Max a victim of that too (on his flying lap). Damn. 😁

Hmm Ferrari looking good. Also those upgrades on Norris' car are really working.

Merc looking solid enough in Hamilton's hands. I think AM/FA are going to have their work cut out this weekend!

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,669 Mod ✭✭✭✭Andrew76

Norris looking very strong with those upgrades. Think he usually goes well on this track too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 890 ✭✭✭seamusk84

Can't afford to keep losing times like that. Surprised to se Max go over the line...Not that it matters. He'll blast it out now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,648 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

Serious beard on that Williams mechanic.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 890 ✭✭✭seamusk84

    That's a quick McLaren.

Damn FA just lost his time!

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,669 Mod ✭✭✭✭Andrew76

This short track and the closer than normal lap times makes for more excitement. Russell struggling.

    Jesus Perez, lap deleted.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,648 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

    Serious pressure on Perez again.

Perez gets in and Russell misses out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 890 ✭✭✭seamusk84

I don't trust anything now with these track limits!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,648 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

Scrap that, Perez has his lap deleted. He is out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,376 ✭✭✭Indestructable

Perez is hopeless. De Vries to go and Perez too. Time for Marko to get the chopping block out.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,669 Mod ✭✭✭✭Andrew76

Perez, dear Lord. That car has so much pace in hand he could afford to take it relatively easy in those last corners.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,346 ✭✭✭McFly85

    Perez you absolute wally.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 890 ✭✭✭seamusk84

Really hard way for Perez to start a Sprint weekend. Sick yesterday and now this disaster today.

Looking like a bad weekend all around.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 516 ✭✭✭Lawlesz

Must be someone somewhere in the world calling him Checo again that caused that

Perez, Ocon and Russell out in Q2 will at least make for an interesting midfield start on Sunday.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,405 ✭✭✭KillerShamrock

Perez has no one to bleme but himself he could of easily been in the top 10 he is washed at this poin championship well and truely sealed for max, Cant see perez being kept on next year

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,602 ✭✭✭JeffKenna

No excuse for Perez, was warned about that corner

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 516 ✭✭✭Lawlesz

I'm pretty sure that's Albons physio and I think he's actually Irish

It is indeed, Patrick J Harding. A body and beard mechanic so :)

Lovely result for Max. Great lap from Charles and rubbish again from Perez.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,354 ✭✭✭✭dulpit

I've heard people say that Perez is a confidence driver. The way things are going will he ever get his groove back?

What's interesting is they if it was Max who was starting p15 on Sunday then we'd all think he'll easily get up to the top. With Perez, not the same.

Also - boo for sprint weekend, not a fan. Tomorrow is just weird.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,669 Mod ✭✭✭✭Andrew76

It’s a shame as he seemed to have decent pace in the car today and not a million miles off Max (other than the very first lap in Q1). From what I remember anyway.

He’s never going to challenge Max over a season but he really should be making more of the car advantage while it lasts.

Possible rain tomorrow for the sprint is being mentioned.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,390 ✭✭✭✭Frank Bullitt

These short laps are intense, also means the margins are super close over the field.

Still though...Max for the win all over.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,685 ✭✭✭✭mickdw

Unusual to hear Horner comment so negatively on perez going outside track limits.

Verstappen called to the stewards about possibly impeding KMag...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 908 ✭✭✭DrZeuss

Have to say, the track limits is getting rather tedious. Why not add a small strip of gravel trap, at least that way its an instant punishment.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,708 ✭✭✭Charlie-Bravo

Really need to change the kerb profile to punish drivers instead of this constant farce of deleting lap times. It's a shame as this shorter lap brings the cars closer.
