Daniel isn't gravelly enough for Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.

What the show really lacked, for me, was The Burke family singing 'A Boy Named Sue'.

As he didn't show up in boots

Apparently he answered hotel room doors in the nude

Whsts the point of these Karaoke acts? Do any of them do original stuff? Seems like all covers of what the yanks stars are singing. Maybe as a senior member of the Irish karaoke community, we’d daniel will start answering the door to hairdressers in the buff like that senior member of the yank musical fraternity allegedly does

Seeing the amount of people that visit him for his afternoon tea can you imagine the queues at his door if he answered it in the nude.

I was hoping they'd have Gloria on to sing 'One day at a time' it'd be a damn sight better than that 'Me and Bobby McGee' effort.

This 'country' show was the best of the season so far ….. type of country not my type of music in particular ….. am an Elvis/Charlie Rich/Ray Charles fan …… but at least it was not the usual smutty sporty celeb nonentity borefest we saw in the first 3 ….. and I suppose we got an Elvis song at the start albeit not in Elvis' league …..

Would have preferred another Kris Kristofferson song besides that Bobby McGee ….. a poor song and KK's attempt to write Hey Jude/Beatles type song as a country song ….. Why Me Lord is a good one he wrote that Elvis and Charlie Rich recorded ….. would have suited Daniel actually …..

That said and done ….. what is the obsession with Boyzone songs in RTE …. even managed to have one squeezed in here …. sung by a beardy heftier version of the Ro Man …… meaning the Dublin not Italian type !!! …..

Late Late Show related so worth a mention here… Patrick Kielty will be popping up on BBC Radio 4 on Saturday night to look back on 1994, a pivotal year in the Irish history.

Comedian Patrick Kielty and Producer Ruth Sanderson - both Northern Irish - recall their experiences of 1994, an extraordinary year which would change the whole Island of Ireland forever. Patrick was starting his TV comedy career in Northern Ireland, tackling the troubles, politics and identity head on in a ground breaking show. The first IRA ceasefire was announced that year and created a sense of hope and optimism that things might just change. South of the border, the Republic of Ireland experienced the 'Celtic Tiger', a phrase first coined in 1994.

Angela's a good looking girl but dressing up like Johnny Logan in 1987 isn't the best.

I'd say it's only months before they will be adding the "if you have been affected by" warnings in to childrens cartoons, the sight of a mouse being caught by a cat might be too much for some children.

Didn't know Serj Tankian had a son.

Much more downbeat than his Dad's material.
