Not much movement in Tipp - Pat o'connor back in with clonmel, ray moloney in with cashel - good few cashel lads have gone travelling. Nenagh have signed a NZ 10 along with charlie o doherty from Bohs. Think nenagh will do well in 2A, very close last year and kept there squad together. Hopefully a tipp team can get promoted to 1B.

Limerick is the usual cesspit - players moving every year. Shannon have brought in Matt brown as backs coach from old crescent They signed a young lad from crescent kiely - irish 19s back 3 player i think, they signed a few more players i think but nothing confirmed. they lost a good few, mcgarry the 15 gone to thomond, dineen the 13 gone to bohs, coffey gone to oz, mccarthy, heffernan to tullamore, Ring the 8 is going blackrock.

YM have brought in simon malone as forwards coach - terenure coach last season, - they got tony butler and ruadhan quinn, not sure who else they signed, there prop bartley is gone to oz and a few backs have gone to thomond, cusack and ryan. goggin and o connor are gone to pro teams abroad. Yn could still be v strong with butler and quinn. Garryowen announced there new coaching ticket last night - they seem very organised. rumours are they got hadden the prop for irish 20s and o'neill and Fitzgerald in the backs are back from travelling. they have there 20s coaching ticket announced also few weeks back. Crok con lost moynihan to oz and signed highfield 10 james taylor, rumour they got 2 lads from young munster also maher and o sullivan - not sure if true. Donnelly the munster prop is back with cons also - his from cork.

Dublin is where the league will be dominated again, Nure signed Aron egan the trinity 10 - his v good. Not sure what smith the exiting 10 is doing. Tarf got 2 trinity lads the 9 and the centre. Seems trinity losing a few. Landsdowne i havent heard much on or ucd

Wanderers supposedly in a spot of bother with internal unrest at board level and a hoard of players leaving the club. Hopefully they can resolve the situation and challenge once again

Trinity are coming to the end of the cycle for most of their players. Losing O’Reilly and Egan and 9/10 is a blow for sure, but they’ve Matty Lynch (Irish 20s) coming straight in to replace Egan.

Ballynahinch rumored to have signed Ulster Tighthead Cameron Doak

Still seems strange not seeing Sunday's Well in there, especially as they were doing so well 6-7 years back.

St. Mary's College will still be mid table in 2B. That squad looks physically tiny, compared to the AIL winners of a decade ago.

to be fair most of the squad were in the final year of their respective degrees last year if i remember tony smeeth saying correctly on the podcast last year with the 3 lads, so not surpised theres alot of chop and change this year....

He is for Armagh, James French is for Hinch.

Terenure will be doing well to get all these players gametime and keep them happy.

Was never 7s contracted. Just academy who played some 7s

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 348 ✭✭luke9311

ah fair.... thought he was fully 7s tried and only done academy for a short stint.... simular to jack kelly a few years back.

thats a decent recruitment done then as you'd imagine he wont be pulled away for key ail games for 7s or academy duties etc etc...

Sam Berman & Aran Egan has signed for Terenure from DUFC, McNulty is back with them full time too. Josh Murphy from Connacht has joined Clontarf. Jack Cooke has signed for Lansdowne too. In other leagues, it seems Blackrock College RFC have signed many players, including Clarkson, Thornbury, Madigan, O'Reilly, Turner and a few other pro/former pro players. UCD have been busy too it seems, while I know DUFC have lost several players.

Max O'Reilly who was recently let go by Leinster.

Surprising to see Blackrock going after so many current pros who won't be available to them for large parts of the season. Heard Jordi Murphy has also committed to them for the coming season.

Jack Cooke an excellent signing for Lansdowne.

Not that surprising with Rock. it'll strengthen their squad considerably and even a few games availability for some of them combined with what those guys can bring just being in squad will help a lot

must have made a last minute twitch.... was said early up in this thread both of them oreillys on that trinity squad were linked to tarf and nure moves respectively! i get confused all the time in which ones which but never heard of either of them going to rock. interesting

I believe the unrest is to do with the funding for their Clubhouse development. Seeking money from the ‘visas for cash’(IIP) government scheme(20 odd million). Paying agent fees is causing conflict apparently. Other clubs have availed of this scheme also I believe. They were the only club to make it to The Times about this funding a few years back.
