Marty in 2006 was on 2fm breakfast, wiki doesn't have him as presenter of WS in 2006, but I would have though he was also. John Kelly on the other hand I don't understand.

So as we could have probably predicted, the latest statements indicate that nobody knew anything except for one person and she has resigned and has a dose of the trots so won’t be able to show up to answer any questions. In the end nobody is going to be held accountable. We live in a great country 😟

Those salaries are shameful. Did I read that Joe Duffy was on 350K if so that could not be justified in any organisation particularly one that the tax payer is funding

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,986 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

It's the FAI all over again.

People can just waste millions of taxpayers money, and walk away.

Dee Forbes is this years John Delaney.

  • Be interested to see the salaries for 2FM, a lot of presenters on a station that is performing abysmally. While radio 1 salaries are scandalous, they still have big listenership.

2FM have 9 presenters 7-7 mon-fri. In the same time of day, FM104 has 4 presenters and Spin has 5, and both outperforming 2FM by a mile

How much is 2fm costing the tax payer...

351k, 301k for Liveline. 50k for the Meaning of Life. Contract rolled forward for 2 more years with a 5 minute discussion to quote Joe Duffy. Funny Friday remains......

I might have missed it but has Katie Hannon had anything to say? Just out of interest....she was the "Fill in Phil" for a few years there, but since starting the TV show seems she only appears on that...

Would have been LOT busier the previous two years, but I'm gonna guess this years wage is a lot more.

Funny Friday got the bin this week!! Small miracles and all that....

Great Question - will we ever know?

Has the list of 100 been published anywhere?

Yes, this is the meaning of life ...

",351k, 301k for Liveline. 50k for the Meaning of Life,"

    🤣🤣🤣

I think RTE reflects the hubris in Irish society in general. We reap what we sow.

    2022 figures released

We all know them what they were roughly going to be, but still shocking all the same.

Top 6 all contractors. Let's hope KB stands by his promise not to deal with agents when the contracts come up for renewal.

The 2 most shocking for me are Miriam and Ballsy.

Miriam is listed as "Primetime presenter". Her work on Primetime consists of a few minutes of actual talking time linking video pieces together.

And Ballsy for 4hrs on air time per week.

Duffy's salary has been a running joke for a long time now.

But Claire Byrne as second highest earner at 320k. What exactly does she do for that?!

Dee Forbes wasn't very good at her job was she?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,851 ✭✭✭✭zell12

Poor Ray, used to be on €450k, now on a miserly €250k

Duffy has another year at the trough at that massive salary...then he should be gone imo, anyone could do that slot..turn up moan, belch, barely listen to the callers.

what does George Lee do, I don't see him much. In the old days he was more visible. But his salary is still very visible.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,079 ✭✭✭mykrodot

how Ray ever got to be on 450K beggars belief. He is inept. It is actually breathtaking to hear those salaries. Maybe its the advertising revenue they pull in around their shows? Brendan O Connor overpaid too..............and Marian Finucian RIP was also on massive money for her once a week slot.

    George Misereee

Pops up on the news once in a while, stealing a living

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,486 ✭✭✭✭hotmail.com

One of the more scandalous salaries.

No other media outlet would pay him even half that figure.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,986 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

This peddled nonsense about how they bring in so much advertising revenue because of who they are. Doesn't wash.

Sure haven't a few of these high profile shows and presenters went without a sponsor for a while?

And the lack of Tubs hasn't stopped advertisers taking slots on the 9 to 10am show. Nonsense. It was something peddled by Dee Forbes and previous DGs but it doesn't stand up to scrutiny.

I wonder will Joe talk about it on the lIveline today?

George Lee did a runner from RTE when FG offered him a safe seat in the Dail. He threw his teddy from the pram when he didn't get a ministerial gig ( entitled much?)

Welcomed back to RTE with open arms and is consistently in the list of top 10 earners.

It's a great oul' country, all the same 🙄

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 556 ✭✭✭CONSI

Anyone know why it takes over a year for RTE to give us the 2022 salaries

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,851 ✭✭✭✭zell12

Commercial sensitivity reasons, you know, in case the competition want to poach them.

RTÉ insists this would be a beach of "privacy and data protection restrictions". However, senior sources within the station have said citing privacy and data protection restrictions is a "cop-out" and a "fob-off to protect management". There is now mounting pressure for RTÉ to publish the legal advice to back up its refusal to release further pay details beyond the top 10 presenters. https://www.independent.ie/irish-news/staff-say-refusal-to-publish-more-rte-salaries-is-a-fob-off/35999215.html

Corporate confidentiality. If BBC/LBC etc find out the pittance RTE are paying "The talent" they will surely swoop in and snap them up for their organisations
