Great result, I was worried with the loss of those early wickets.. Great to get the first test win.

Great day for Irish cricket, only took Ireland 8 Test matches to get there and that is an impressive achievement, despite what some on here have said. Delighted for Andy Balbirnie, he deserves all the plaudits for this win and hats off to the coaching staff who got the team prepared despite having no red-ball cricket since last summer. There is plenty to build on now and it would be nice to have Abbotstown finished so we can enjoy a Test series at home.

They've achieved their first test victory in less tests than Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and South Africa and only marginally more than the WI, not bad given the relative strength of the sport in Ireland.

Can someone merge the two threads please.

Ireland struggling a bit in the first ODI...Afghanistan 124 without any loss of wickets. In the 28th over.
