I find it strange that with all the investigating the authorities were not able to find the cause of the awful tragety that happened nearly 3 months ago.

i read that it was extended by a Month which has passed, i read over holidays that likely cause gas which they knew day 1.

I understood the investigation was complete.

Where did you hear it was ongoing as that was not mentioned in what i read.

I’m just assuming that there will be a statement when the investigation is complete.

For obvious reasons the investigation has to be rock solid so accuracy is much more important than speed.

It's not going to be a brief report just saying, yes, it was gas as we suspected from the start. There's a huge fallout from this, will involve solicitors and insurance companies, regulators, the installation of every appliance will be investigated, maintenance records, who was responsible for the upkeep. Someone or some company is potentially in huge trouble here and these things take time to do right. And will face opposition, defence and counter arguments.

It seems there is a report pending from what you say, i expect the people you mention will only get involved after the report is published. I expect 3 months is enough time to get it right or at least indicate progress. Lightly Gas?

I'd expect the solicitors and insurance companies are involved now, slowing things down as they generally do. If I was the one who was seen to be at fault, I'd be engaging anyone I could to represent me to be honest.

Also, depending on the outcome, checks to other gas installations around the country may be necessary which could lead to gas being disconnected from properties if issues are found. We have been here before with other building issues. That is another reason that the investigation must be rock solid.

I think the OP is quite correct. There was a lot of rumour and speculation in the days after this tragedy, some of which seemed to be of local origin and other by just people guessing at a remove. No wise to start listing these rumours again. So it's surely in the public interest to have the facts declared sooner rather than later, otherwise speculation and rumour will continue. A 'gas leak' is not a sufficient explanation.

This process is not going to look like another TV episode of Law & Order or other Legal Drama. In the Real World, these things take a lot longer length of time and money.

This is like asking why someone isn't convicted a month after being arrested on suspicion of murder.

Or why you're not cured after an initial cancer scan or a few months into treatment.

The fire officer or gardai are doing it for families and insurance companies. If it takes time to establish a correct and professional answer, and rule other possibilities so be it.

It's not so our curiosity can be pandered to. And yes, public interest is a consideration, but that will come. The priority isn't you, I or a newspaper headline though

It would be incredibly surprising if the resultant report claims the reason/s for the explosion are inconclusive

As is appropriate, nothing is being said until they have the investigation completed. You do not know what progress has been made. It would be negligent to leak or say where they are at present.

Lets just say, they are working hard, doing it properly and are making progress.

I expect that that is what will be in the report and you may very well be right, then the lawyers will take over. It is very likely you are correct but pwoplw should be told the result, if the investigation is not complete this should be stated, i read over holidays. Likely gas.

It's not complete yet.

If criminal charges are to be considered then do not expect to be given full access to the report, as due process must happen.

Even if the investigation is completed, it takes a bit of time to write a report. A report needs to be rock solid and it will also have recommendations. The report will also need to be reviewed by a number of people before it is released.

The explosion took place on the 7th October. That is just over 12 weeks ago. And in that time, we have had the Christmas break. In terms of reports, that isn't a lot of time at all.

Have you considered the families and friends of those who lost their lives and were injured in this terrible tragedy and are still grieving before starting such an irresponsible thread? They will be the first to know the findings of the ongoing investigations and rightfully so.
