I'm not relying on it as a road safety assesment. I'd just like to hear @Brendan Bendar and your replies to my questions for the scenario that it was a child involved:

    1. How would the drivers insurance have assigned responsibility?
    2. How would the gardai have assigned responsibility?

Go on, let me know what you think they'd say.

Your "very simple" basically boils down to "motorists are to blame for everything because they drive cars".

Take some responsibility and for the love of god stop talking about obscured side windows! Unless the OP teleported onto the pathway, they were visible though the windscreen.

Please. As a motorist stop. You're not a good ambassador, you don't represent motorists in a good light.

You sound like one of those people that needs to go back to driving lessons, it's no wonder our insurance is high with the likes of you suggesting potential hazards like pedestrians and cyclists should remove themselves from situations because you can't or refuse to avoid them.
