What is after Death?

I have been thinking of Zen concepts like God, and wondered

"Is God just a layered hierarchy leading to the very elite in Society at the top ?"

It's curious how all the God terms have a one-to-one mapping to the most respected members of Society, "Lord", "King", and how in olden days, Subjects must kneel before the King or Caeser, to show respect to a particular human bloodline.

Historically, the Church and High Society are one and the same, and Church Doctrine is dictated by High Society through the Church, acting as a Proxy.

The mystery of things that cannot be accessed by mere mortals like me, makes me think I need to climb the top of the pyramid, and look downwards.

Maybe God's are merely Ghosts of wealthy bloodlines?

When you die, you go back to where you were before you were born. Which is nothing.

What is after death? It depends. If you're the one who died, nothing. If it's a loved one then it's tough for a while. If it's a stranger then shrug and get on with your life.

I dunno what's after death.

A friend died after a long illness and he did a lot of reading about the subject. He felt that there is a type of life after death, but you wouldn't be checking in on loved ones again or anything like that.

I'd be very interested to know are there some books worth reading on the case for life after death. I suspect there is something, but really don't know.

At times I struggle with the reality of my own mortality, but the concept of eternity is terrifying. I hope death is oblivion and that all awareness is gone as soon as my neurones stop firing.

It's an interesting conversation for sure. I just rather keep it in the present, and have a stoic attitude towards life. Prone to fantasy now and again but like to keep it in the moment.

Although I would like the idea of reincarnation where you can go back in time as an option, especially because I love life and a thrill seeker. I love danger,passion and looking back I'd have loved to be a gladiator or a warrior fighting with a sword. Protecting the local village and had high ranking status in a tribe. I'd love to have had a big family and lived in simple hardened time's. Hardships I embrace especially when I have to go into survival mode.

After death I'd love to come back as a wild cat such as a mountain lion or wolf something in a climate like north America where there's seasonal weather. Warm summer's and cold snowy winter's.

I want to go on in a different place but if I die and my consciousness goes nowhere, that's still somewhere.

A funeral, of one sort or other, a burial or a fire or whatever, a few sandwiches or a plate of food and a few drinks, and hopefully nice memories for those you have left behind and those you met when you were around.
