Flew over to the UK And back yesterday. Looking for Benson and hedges for a pensioner.

Dublin Airport was about 60 euro a carton. Liverpool airport was 61 sterling.

Ryanair in-flight duty Free sales FOURTY euro. Holy crap. We bought 3 cartons for 120 euro.

That should keep the old one stocked for a few weeks.

Just wondering what exactly the limits are as got pulled on exiting the airport with 600 cigarette between 2 adults after a flight from Tenerife. Customs officer said it was 200 per adult.

Family got taken aside and rifled through every suitcase, customs told us they were going to seize the cartons of cigarettes but after apologies profusely they let us go. Don’t smoke bought them for someone else so haven’t a notion of limits.

edit: I did Google limits while in Tenerife and it stated 800 was the limit so I thought I was well within that.

Because the Canaries are duty free you’re only allowed to bring back 200 cigs or 250g tobacco.

It should be well known by now that duty free prices in UK airport are the highest in Europe.Tobacco prices based on high street prices which are higher than the Republic.

If anyone is interested Stena are now doing day trip duty free trips for 16euro adult /8 kids

3 1/2 ferry crossing, few hours in wales then straight back, on board they tend to sell you what you want and just ask if you're aware of limits so its a risk bringing it through, a LOT cheaper than the airports too, and a day out for the kids in the summer

Not sure about Cigarettes but 250g amber leaf/GV is 50euro or 500g Lamber & Butler tobacco is 90euro

If anybody is heading to Bulgaria on holidays. The Golden Virginia blonde 30g is €3.75 or €37.50 (30g x 10) instead of in Ireland €20.20 or €202 for 10 packs. Some difference. Bulgaria is in the EU so duty is paid on those prices.

Benson and Hedges 200 cigarettes (10 x 20 pack) €32.50.

Flights to plovdiv with ryanair sometimes as cheap as flights to UK. Just providing some competition to the duty free prices.

€1.00 = 1.95lv so Bulgarian prices have been halved to show euro equivalent.

you relying on the fact that Ryanair will have stock on board.... might be dodgy if its a late evening flight as they may be sold out and then you empty handed !

Very unlikely they will have stock.

There was none on plane on recent return flight from Canaries and I think 2 packs Amber Leaf on way out

Flew dub Manchester at 3pm last Wednesday week. We got another 400. Flying home again this weekend. Will see if we have availability again. Maybe we are just getting lucky

Fags were 40eu for 200 on a ryan air flight last week (liverpool to dublin) weren't offered

on the dub to liv flight though

They didn't say what they had

In Liverpool airport 200 purple silk cut were £64/400 for £103

I bought a pack of 600 for the mother which were pretty reasonably priced

in comparison at £135/159euro

200 silk cut purple and others for £64(~€76) in Stansted yesterday. Better to get them off Ryanair themselves for €40. Not sure if they sell silk cut purple though

€92 for 500 grms Amber Leaf (10x50) in a normal downtown tobacconist in Alicante Spain a month ago.

Over €100 in Alicante airport duty free shop.

I was in Zurich recently, I couldn’t get my cigarettes in Dublin airport and was annoyed. Upon landing in Zurich I was pleasantly surprised that they have a duty free shop for arrivals and got them there. Surely that would be a good money maker for Dublin airport if they had similar.

I came back from Gatwick 2 weeks ago on a Ryanair evening flight and they only had the choice of Marlboro or JP Blue. €40 for 200. Got the JP for my mam, she was delighted.

So ryanair this morning from Manchester to Dublin. 400 Benson for 80 euro. Cheapest about it appears.

Tui inflight sales had 400 for 70 sterling which is a bit dearer, while Manchester duty free was 103 sterling for 400

Just on boat now, Stena Dublin to Holyhead, 10x50g of Amber leaf or Golden Virginia is £100 (€122), that's €12.20 per pouch when equivelant in shop is €35.

400 Silk cut/jp blue/marlboro is £90

Stena also do a day trip duty free offer, leaving dub at 08:00, 2hr in Holyhead then arriving back in Dub at 18:00 for €16
