Men against boys here. Limerick swarming Cork. No support for the Cork player.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,320 ✭✭✭robbiezero

It should have dropped long ago you would think. For all the hurling they have they will win no AI with these light pacy bag of piss teams that they pick and game plan of running around teams rather than through them

I wish this was knockout so we'd be put out of our fuckin misery

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,704 ✭✭✭citykat

Ref is feeling sorry for Cork now with soft frees

Cork are terrible. Don’t know what they are doing.

Well that was a short championship, no one is getting near Limerick this year

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,440 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

That sums up cork. Players having no help and no where to go.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,704 ✭✭✭citykat

It’s great to see Byrnes put those frees wide. He makes such a big production out of it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,320 ✭✭✭robbiezero

I wouldnt judge much on today. This was always on the cards. Cork are the same as they were last year.

    100%.

    Limerick will only improve.

They are to strong physically for Waterford IMO

Limerick have loads of improvement in them but their work ethic is fantastic. Absolute work horses

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,271 ✭✭✭✭lawred2

Limerick actually playing as well as they are capable could have double scored this abysmal Cork side really

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,534 ✭✭✭Stacksofwacks

Yeah they will just grind Waterford down, KK are the team who might cause them bother

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,704 ✭✭✭citykat

Pat Ryan on for his usual 2 minute cameo

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,194 ✭✭✭Jarhead_Tendler

That is some score by Ryan

  • Registered Users Posts: 389 ✭✭tommybrees

Cork and limerick a very poor game, limerick look like there in 3rd gear while Cork basically trying to play like a rugby team handpassing it up the pitch

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,320 ✭✭✭robbiezero

KK have no chance against them. Just dont have the hurlers any more even if they could match them physically which i doubt.

    "Cork haven't given up"

You'd wonder too what basis Cork applied to bring back Kingston for a second stint.

When you look at the other counties to did similar:

James Horan (Mayo)- at least got them to a couple of All Irelands. Unlucky to be in the same era as Jim Gavin.

Liam Sheedy (Tipp)- won AI first stint. Won another in his first year back.

Jack O'Connor (Kerry)- three AI titles in his first two stints. Success with the minors since then. Favourites for All Ireland this year.

Even James McCartan could call upon an unlikely AI final run with Down first time around.

Kingston had no pedigree to suggest Cork should come cap in hand to him again. And subsequently shipped one hell of a beating in last year's final of historic porportions.

The effort that these lads are still putting in two minutes into injury time with an 11 point lead.

A new bar for inter county hurling really

11 point win playing 35 minutes into a strong wind, giving a 4 point head start and Cork at home.

    That's a proper mauling

The expected victory for Limerick. The expected performance from Cork.

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,440 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

Terrible stuff from cork. Looked clueless at times and handed limerick two goals.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,900 ✭✭✭awaywithyou

Not really... Kilkenny were the same from 06-09.... watching limerick now is literally like watching KK in the noughties...

Limerick are excellent but I doubt they’ll get a softer game all year. That was completely pathetic from Cork and the early goal just softened the first half domination a bit too.

The passing around and going back to the goalkeeper stuff shouldn’t be discussed again let alone considered as being appropriate in a game.

You would think that.... but you know KK they will just never give up..... will keep playing and playing.... will be cuter than Every other team out there when it comes to playing Lk... don’t think they will be good enough to beat them but ya never know

  • Registered Users Posts: 748 ✭✭✭Glenomra

Good for hurling to see Waterford and Limerick beat 2 of the giants of hurling history . Makes it a great hurling era imo.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,534 ✭✭✭Stacksofwacks

I dunno theres only so much blame you can put on a manager, I think the Cork players just arent good enough, a few nice hurlers but just not good enough. I think Kingston has done a reasonable job to even get them to an AI and league final.

Limerick are excellent but I doubt they’ll get a softer game all year.

Cork are a good barometer for the championship as they played the second favourites last week in a league final.

Waterford beat them by 6 and were lauded by many as AI champions elect because Cork were a worthy challenge.

Limerick beat them by 12 today.
