I got an email about 2 or 3 months ago saying I was shortlisted by order of merit (scored in the top 10's during assessment stages). I ended up having to send back a bunch of documents, but last thing I heard back was when sending the extra security clearances and since then I've got no news on it.

I did get in touch a few times PAS and the HR people at AGS but they had no real updates for me, and basically said sit tight and wait for the clearances to come through.

Not yet, when did yours come through? I still have not heard back from the extra security clearances about 2 months ago.

Congrats. I got an offer as well but can’t make the Jan training date so will be starting training 20th Feb

Congrats all due to start training on Monday or in Feb. Best of luck with the new position, let us know how you get on! :)

How do we find out when the training dates for 2023 are on, I wonder if they post timetables somewhere?

Is it all based in Templemore?

  • Registered Users Posts: 6 gazsheeg

The only ones I know of are 9th Jan and 20th Feb. Im in the Feb one.

ghey told me it’s a 5 week training with 3 weeks in Templemore so will be last 2 weeks in Dublin for me, or wherever you’re assigned.

Thanks for the info, have not heard back from clearances yet so likely I will be in the Feb 20th one.

Any idea how long your clearances took from the time you sent it?

For those who already went through training/have been working for a while (also as Crime and Policing Analyst, or is it the same role just different title?):

are there any books or manuals you would recommend to read for such a role? Also, is there an association or society for analysts in Ireland?

    Thank you.

Has anyone applied for the Senior Crime and Data Analyst role?

  • Registered Users Posts: 18 OllieDro

Yes. I didn’t select Dublin though as I am based in the mid-west so hoping there are posts down this way. 👍

I applied as well, selected Dublin and Kildare

Same, I put down Cork and Kerry so fingers crossed

Also applied for Galway and Clare

Wonder when we'd start hearing back?

Message today on PublicJobs that shortlisting will take place in May. We'll get the results of the shortlisting in turn.

Nothing else before then and no specifics as to what part of May.

Got a message on Thursday that shortlisting is ongoing and results of same be released mid - end of June.

Hi has angone had any update on the shortlisting? I've heard nothing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 143 ✭✭Anastasia_

Nope, nothing. Applied for a different role last week and shortlisting had been completed by yesterday, and online tests sent out to be completed by next week. It's crazy the time difference between competitions.

Not a word.….. the wait goes on!

Message out from public jobs today. Anyone else think the message was bizarre? I was outside the top 40 and placed on a reserve panel but it would be interesting to know how the application forms were scored. Also my preference is for outside Dublin so impossible to know where you are on the panel for specific counties or is that irrelevant as I’m on the reserve panel.

I thought it was oddas there was no location and no feedback. I got reserve too. I wonder what kind of backgrounds people had if they were called forward. Can anyone share?

Same. The lack of detailed feedback seems strange. Usually there would be a score given for each competency with a minimum standard to reach in each competency but for them to state some applications demonstrated sufficiently strong evidence while another group demonstrated sufficient evidence is so vague. After waiting so long I’d expect more feedback. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were just under pressure to complete the shortlisting and rushed it through and thats why it’s so vague.

Made it through the shortlisting, heard nothing about any top 40 though. I wonder is that nationwide or by county? No word on interview yet

  • Registered Users Posts: 13 Mr. sneakyboo

Congrats on being shortlisted. My message stated candidates up to 40 on the order of merit were being called for interview. I presume it’s nationwide.

Email out this morning to say vacancies are only in Dublin, Louth and Wexford currently so only those counties will be interviewed. Looks like a waiting game for the rest of the country.

Placed in the single digits OOM for Clare and Galway for the Senior Crime and Data Analyst role, so a waiting game it is.

Would anybody have the PDF for the role? Can't seem to find it

    Thanks if so

I didn't get any further. Got no details why unfortunately. Maybe next time. Have interviews been held yet? Any offers made?
