if this report is correct some big changes due in the next while for the DF. Not sure if this is just in response to the obvious questions people are asking in light of Russia’s crowding the Ukraine border & the EEZ war games or they really just felt like it was necessary. i can’t pretend I wasn’t a little embarrassed to…

One on my close friends married a Finnish lady, They have 2 lads born in Helsinki now early 20's, I have seen pics of them in Army uniform complete with serious firearms.
I'm not saying that Ireland should bring in national service but any country should have a proper military defence. Those lads are probably the only Finnish Army men with their common top 10 Irish surname, their Irish Grandmother is still going strong at 94 so hopefully they will get to see her in the next couple of months.
