Is it really awkward or what? Do you ask the store assistants for advice on what condoms to buy or how does it work?

I remember a good few years ago, probably early 2000s, a middle aged German woman in a major pharmacy in Cork asking quite technical questions about lubrication ingredients of various condom brands. She was very direct and just got answered in a very matter of fact way.
