Got mine as well. I'm assigned to my existing Department so am a bit miffed and not sure what to do... I hadn't requested to stay, and would like to move around. Anyone any experience of this?

Are you on more than one panel? If you are, you can decline one and stress you would like to be moved when replying back. If that's what you want obviously.

I specified in my email re: clearance that I would like to change department so they noted that and I got a new Dept. If you're on another stream and willing to wait then I would indicate that to PAS and hold out for a new position

Anyone know when the results for last round of video interviews will be out? Last day to record them was 1st March

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 954 ✭✭✭crinkley

it was 2 days shy of 4 weeks for us to get results, so considering the 2 days public holidays you could be looking at very end of March or start of April. Hopefully you'll hear sooner

For reference, our last day for video interview was 28th Sept. We received results on 19th October. Looks like 3 full weeks.

Looking back, it's a long wait for us from finding out we were through stage 2. At least we are seeing the light at the end of tunnel now.

Passed and In the range to be called for interview. Will need to look back over the posts regarding the presentation.

didn't pass again, said I didn't show experience in budgeting or enough management experience, despite being a treasurer on a Board and doing all the accounts and managing for last 16 years. Didn't even get enough to have the other two questions looked at, starting to feel personal haha

Best of luck to those who got through

Passed and made it through to interview this time 😊

For those that made it through to interview congrats! Did they give you a date for interview? I passed but not high enough to be called for interview yet. Just wondering what timelines are likely here.

    No date for interview yet.

    Hi

Does anyone know if there's any mechanism to have the video interview reviewed. I got the same score as last year so didnt get all answers reviewed, but I felt I had a much better prepared answer this year so seems strange to have an identical score.

Well done to all those proceeding.

Passed stage 2 and in the range for interview however I am already a serving AP in a public body so don't know how much use this will be to me.

There is an appeal process, which is described on their website. You do need to do this quickly as the time limit is very short.

Hi haven't been on here for ages. Found out today I passed the online interview stage (the one where you record three answers). Got a much higher score than I was expecting which I'm over the moon with (252). What's the next stage exactly? Is it a presentation and interview in one session? Is that the final stage? Do many people fail at the final interview stage or does it seem unlikely if you've got this far?! Sorry I know I could trawl through the posts but have Covid and am exhausted. Thanks in advance. Commisserations to those who didn't get through.

That's an awesome score, well done! My understanding is that the next stage is presentation and interview together in one, and yes that's the final stage. I have no idea however how many people fail the final interview - I would imagine though with those scores, you have the experience they are looking for!

@Ritournelle I had heo video shortlisting reviewed last year and it was a waste of time. After a few weeks waiting I got a generic reply about how everyone was treated in the same way and basically tough luck. I had a great feed back comment but didn’t score well enough in leadership. Still kicking myself over changing my example at the last minute!

The video shortlisting was a nightmare however lessons were learned after reading some of the comments on boards from other people who read a script and barely looked at the screen (apparently).

Thanks a million, I located and completed the form yesterday

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36 Ritournelle

Was the lesson that it was better to just read from a script and not engage with the camera?

Last year I accepted that maybe the example wasnt what was sought but I got advice in preparing my answers this year so its just frustrating to get the same score and the same comment with a different, more considered STAR answer mentioning competencies.

Sorry to hear it Ritournelle. I find the video interviews the least transparent of all of the stages. Last year I passed the video interview and ended up getting an AP role. This year I went through the open competition again to get a move to a different department. I used largely the same answers as last year (if it ain't broke etc), with the only difference being I added in a short piece about my current role as an AP in each of the answers. I was surprised to score 15-20 points lower for each question than I did last year. So I feel like I don't really know what it is they're looking for. I believe lots of people were also unhappy with the video interviews for the heo comp last year too.
