Why do people think it’s so hard to believe?

Some of the well documented Irish OF’s are definitely pulling in that and more. Sure half of them post their monthly earnings on IG, far for then 12k a month!

Of course not everyone pulls that in, and it’s not like it’s easy.

The “hope your paying tax” argument is always comical too.

Because it’s well documented that to make that kind of money from it is difficult and a full time job.
And if somebody was making that much, like why would they ask people on boards if they should quit their nursing job???? It’s clearly either drumming up business from eejits or a hilarious wind up :)

    https://www.xsrus.com/writing/explain/onlyfans/

Scroll down to the bit where it shows figures relating to most of the money being make by a small number of top creators. Avg. person makes 145 a month and some lose money. Apparently unless you have a large social media following to start with it won’t even be worth the effort and you’ll lose money.
If this one is only spending an hour a day, there’s no way that kind of income is even close to happening.

The lower side of things are heavily skewed by a)guys and b)those without social media c)those who dont post explicit content/don't show their face.

I am not sure what you're arguing. If you don't believe I am earning what I am earning, it makes no difference to me.

Others can do that without losing their dignity. It is called an education.

    Best of luck.

Good old Irish begrudgery popping into the thread. Surprised it took this long (apart from the tax man comments lol)

There are lots of very successful online content creators. That is on no doubt.

What is hard to believe though is that they'd be making that much and posting here looking for advice.

Then again we do have resident billionaire Aonghus on the site.

Make hay while the sun shines. Only fans will inevitably have competition or get hit with regulations that might limit your earning power. Get as much out of it while you can. Personally, I’d keep the nursing job long term. Then again, I’ve a a great face for radio.

It's bizarre some of the posts here. I don't know if it's jealousy or what. I am well aware I am in a very lucky position, and I don't think I am anything 'special' or talented.

If you were earning 1m a month people might be jealous, but nobody in the western world is jealous of 10k a month in exchange for the task here. Your 30k estimate is hypothetical at this point.

Judging by public vs private sector threads, posters here would be more jealous if you remained a staff nurse and got to top of the scale.

Re: comments on begrudgery, any comment that says quitting is a bad idea is begrudgery? She's not earning "retire early" money. It's "decent living" money and that's with the major assumption that it remains consistent, which it 100% will not. I think it's bizarre that old timers on a Jobs board are advising someone to quit a career for a hypothetical income, when she currently has both the career + the OF income.

Lol! I was just typing a reply to herself's "It's bizarre some of the posts here" to say "you ain't seen nothing until the moral superiority brigade turn up (one of us! one of us!)"

...and then lo and behold, they turn up.

    Also:
"I don't think I am anything 'special' or talented.".
Uh, yeah, at 12k per month I beg to differ :P

As an aside, a lot of sex related businesses have done really well over the term of the pandemic. Sexsiopa is probably giving Love Honey a run for their money at this stage, especially since brexit. Good for Shawna. The very high end (ie: the expensive real dolls) have been doing a lot of business. It'll be interesting to see to what extent this drops once the economy is back up. So to speak :)

I’m not arguing with you lol, I’m merely pointing out some facts to true few thickos that are buying this BS. I couldn’t care less what you think.

But since you are engaging with me - how did you manage to get a sufficient social media presence when you are working as nurse, fair enough if somebody is unemployed they might have the time?

An hour a day isn’t enough to take pictures and respond to enough messages to make the kind of money you are claiming - what’s your answer for that lol

Don’t think this will be as big an issue as you would imagine, nudity has come a long way since the 80s & 90s, much more common and generally acceptable, even a popular tv program where ye have to get naked. Not too far into the future mothers will be showing their kids naked selfies and the kids will be gasping “wtf people actually gave you money for these!!”

Nudity is not the same as sticking apparatus here there and everywhere for a few euro. As long as she has factored that into her decision, it is all good.

This woman is one of the sites top earners at $100k per year so less than 10k per month, and she only makes that by treating it as a full time job.

So yeah, The nurse who throws only one hour per day at it is literally one of the sites most successful creators and she is on boards asking about it. Lol!!!

It’s obviously not secure employment, but the cash is immense so I can see why they’d be conflicted.

This is not immense cash. It's good, not immense. So it's neither secure, nor immense.
I’m sure if they replaced OF with YouTube - the reaction would be far different.

As I said in my first post, the advice in distance selling communities (Fulfilment by Amazon, Ebay) is to NOT put all of your eggs onto one platform, and to NOT quit your day job, because your income can disappear permanently overnight. So the advice from me would be the same simply because of the platform risk.

This is a thread on a jobs board asking for employment advice and 10-20% of replies are pathetic and lecherous. If OP or other posters don't care about the reputational cost of sex work then that's up to them, but being treated like this when you're asking for serious advice is a clear example of this cost.

I think OP’s post is valid - I don’t think she’s gloating or trolling - she obviously started OF on the side and grew her following over time. Isn’t that the point of the forum to ask for advice?

It’s obviously not secure employment, but the cash is immense so I can see why they’d be conflicted. They are also likely not used to this level of an income, even more reason to ask for advice.

I’m sure if they replaced OF with YouTube - the reaction would be far different.

If you want to take this poster at face value, that's obviously up to you. And there are posters on the site with real problems on the site, more worthy of a 7 page thread than this obvious fantasy stuff.

If the OF page is real, we are being used here for promotion.

And If the poster has a 150k/yr side hustle, the best advice is to get finsncial professional to help them. They can afford it. Not anonymous internet posters.

I have been on social media throughout school and college. Most of the people I follow on social media have jobs.

Do you have any experience with OF? If someone hasn't replied to your message on it, that sucks.

I never quite understand this mentality. Just because I have a bit of spare money coming in, I should stop frequenting Boards.ie?

Do you think anyone posting on internet forums is a loser? Grow up.

I have never used it :) I have only read about it because people joke I should join it to make money (I have an incredible figure) - but I don’t have time because I work, plus while I have no issue with people who create content - in fact I say more power to them and why not - it wouldn’t be something I’d be interested in personally as I can make money other ways.

I meant that most people don’t have enough followers on social media to make the kind of money from subscriptions you are talking about, for those who do it’s usually a full time job as an ‘influencer’. I didn’t mean social media use was only for the unemployed at all.

‘Bit of spare money’ but you told us it was 120k per annum, about 4 times your usual salary?
Perhaps it’s more like 100 euro you ACTUALLY make.

My guess is that what’s really going on here is that you have your only fans account and you are HOPING to make more money from it, and wondering should you quit your nursing job (if that’s even true either) for an easy life making the kind of money you imagine you can make because you have read around a select number of creators making 100k per year.
