Lots of talk of Devin Toner, glad he seems to be signed on for another year.

I know it's not part of his role, but for fun, is there anyone with a worse try scoring record for Leinster?

Between October 2011 and September 2012 he had a prolific period of 3 tries in 31 games but then had to wait at least 8,326 minutes (138 hours, the guts of 6 entire days, standing on a rugby pitch waiting to get over that white line) until his last try in May 2018 (the opening try in the Pro14 final vs Scarlets).

    That's a total of 4 tries in 259 appearances.

Michael Bent scored 1 try in his second season with leinster in 2013/14, but none after that. Then went on to score 3 tries in both last season and this season.

Without doing much research Mike Ross must be pretty bad too

Didn't Rossy score only one or possibly 2?

Wasn't there a thing that Joe made the lads do laps for excessively celebrating tries and he gave Rossy a pass for his celebration when he eventually scored haha.

According to Wiki, Rossy in nearly 300 senior games spanning 12 seasons for Munster, Quins, Leinster and Ireland scored 2 tries

He’s a try machine lately, maybe a run out in the wing.

    Michael Bent(34) - future unclear
Devin Toner(34) - in negotiations to extend contract
Scott Fardy(36) - rumoured to be leaving.
Johnny Sexton(35) - signed 1 year central contract

I kind of remember Rossy in a game v Munster in Aviva....somehow the ball end up with him and the try line right in front of him, he had to run a few yards to hit it and somehow just managed to fall before the line :P

Thats how I remember it but beer was taken

i also recall rossy making a 20 yard line break in midfield his final season, with a side step included iirc

I would keep Bent if possible
Is Fardy now up on his 3 contracts so cant be offered another?

I don't think the 3 contract rule is set in stone.

But I'd say the IRFU would be keen to move him on as would Leinster.

He's looks to be winding down this season and there are lads ready to step up.

He's been unbelievable for Leinster in his time here though

Mount Rushmore of non-irish leinster players:

    Isa Nacewa
    Felipe Contemponi
    Scott Fardy
    Michael Bent

Only if the mountain they are carved into is Michael Bent.

Tough call to include only 4.

I genuinely don't think Leinster would be where they are without Rockys influence.

He was such a catalyst to greater things

Scored a whopping two tries in 151 performances for leinster, took him 8 years of professional rugby to score his first try against Wasps in 2013, and then his second against Scarlets two years later.

He used to make these barnstorming runs fending off players about 5 metres from the line and then he'd just stop dead right before the line and hit the deck

I’d put 4 Michael Bents up on it

I know we're talking about a mountain here....

But like would a mountain take the strain of 4 Bentys?

Anyone that’s seen him scrummage knows he can hold anything up

As great as Felipe was, it's hard to put him in the same sort of category as the others in terms of what he helped us to achieve.

Correct, but if he didn't pick up that injury in the semi it would probably be a different story if Leinster went onto win.
