Not so windy here in Firhouse Dublin 24 but temp down to 1.3c no idea what the DP or WB temps are.
Tried to snow earlier but then stopped.
Seriously considering staying up until 3am as otherwise it might just be sleet by 8am.....

Judging by the local weather stations we're at around 2.5 degrees in coastal Dublin. Some strong gusts atm, definitely 70 km/h plus. Will wake up early - expecting a sleety ice pellet mess but still hoping for an hour or two of whiteout conditions (most likely without accumulating snow). Enjoy the snow ghose of you who get it.

Temperatures only have to fall a little further under precipitation and it should settle easily enough.

Big question is how much precipitation there will be...

Snowing away here last 30 minutes or so, starting to stick to the rough surfaces, interesting night ahead in our microclimate area!

I seen your video the other day explaining what was going on with weather at the time. No fancy charts, just a lad who clearly knows what he is talking about. If people are bitching about you, then that is their problem. As others have advised, ignore them, but if you can't (and it isn't an easy thing to do) then go out of your way to irk them even more.

Temperatures falling rapidly over the border in south Laois. 0.9c (down from 1.8c when precip started). Just recorded a 49mph gust!!! Unreal from an ESE direction.

If nobody's seen snow at this stage it doesn't look too good. Anyone?

I don't expect the Kildare snow shadow to be a complete shutout since the moisture is moving in quickly but would expect some 1-2 cm low accumulation spots in a general field of 4-7 cm outcomes, with 8-15 cm potential on wind-facing slopes. That comment applies to Leinster, further north, thinking 8 to 12 cm amounts possible, some variation by exposure to southeast (downslope areas might be 4-8). Only the hilltop snow will be left by Sunday morning though.

All that lovely UK cold blowing across the sea!

Not overly confident about my DP as I have thought for a while that humidity sensor on VP2 has been a bit dodgy. Some very odd readings recently!

Light snow has started in Tullamore.
    Small flakes so far.

Would prefer the wind calmed down so we could have a more uniform layer of snow.

Had a spell of 50% graupel/50% small flakes for a few minutes there, since has returned to 100% snow and flakes a tad bigger now.
Temperatures continue to fall, 0.7c. Gathering on grass and car roofs. Roads and paths damp.

Is it really raining in Athlone or is this sensor error at Custume Barracks? Anyone there to confirm?
