Delighted to hear that, hope he thrives at Northampton. but I'm sorry himself and McElroy are not still with us. will be interested to see the contributions made by Adam McBurney (himself a former hooker at Ulster) and David O'Connor.

Good luck to Tadhg, thought he was good for us and found his release irrational.

Looking at connacht ’s line up, I cannot understand well on 5 and 7. Why Dowling and SHL are in reserve? D.O'Connor looks no achievement at URC level and too short as a lock and SHLis more powerful than Oliver.

Joyce must be injured as we haven't rotated elsewhere. Perhaps we are particularly worried about the scrum and O'Connor is seen as the best available option to pack down at tighthead lock. Lineout should be okay with two genuine options in the back row. Not too worried about the selection at openside, Hurley-Langton will probably play 30+ mins anyway.

Hard to know what to expect from the Sharks, first game up and coming off their Currie Cup campaign. If they play like they did in the second half of last season once Masuku came in at 10, they could expose our defensive frailties out wide as Munster did last week, as did the Lions quite ruthlessly in the Sportsground last season.

Surprised by O'Connor selection also but maybe due to fitness issues as stated. Hopefully he can grab his chance and show what he has to offer.

I am glad to see they havent just changed 6-7 players at what seems like random as seemed to be the case for most of last season, just random people being changed in random positions every week. Hopefully can back up the performance from Thomand.

Looking forward to seeing Shane Jennings again. Not sure he belongs on the wing, but a player with a high ceiling in my opinion.

Where would you rather he play? I'm just glad to see him take the field, he's the sort of player who always seems to make things happen.

Jordan Duggan has been ruled out of the emerging Ireland tour after suffering an ankle injury in training. Gutted for him

Very unfortunate, it was a great opportunity for him. Hopefully they don't take Lasisi as a replacement.

I'd like to see him at either 13 or 15, but given our resources at centre, probably the latter. But I too am happy to see him on the pitch regardless.

Nope they have called up Alex Usanov from Leinster

Joe Joyce was ruled out earlier in the week through injury.

20-25 mins of SHL against a tiring team he could do some damage

POor from connacht. Kick out on full, scrum, pen, 3 points to sharks

Hansen looks like he’s carrying his left arm.

Ioane is possibly a worse kicker than carty.

Sharks power is beginning to tell but Connacht not helping themselves at restarts. Can’t win any.

Sharks 15 has some boot on him. Landed two from inside their own half.

Game over already when sharks score here

If you can find positives in that performance in first half please enlightening me 😂

Embarrassing again. As good on paper as we've ever been and this is the shite that gets served up time and again. How this clown wasn't punted last season ill never know

Jennings, Forde, JMurphy are going well but the rest are just getting out muscled badly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,108 ✭✭✭StevenToast

I honestly think Connacht will be better in the 2nd half and get back into the game...

But regardless, that 1st half was a disgrace....

    Thats on me!

Missed the first few mins and we haven't done a single thing right since I started watching.

Sharks haven't even been that good, just doing the basics.
