Howya horsebox. What seems to elude you (like most things) is that RTÉ have been pontificating to the nation for months about adhering to social distancing and wearing masks indoors. Day after day drilling home the same message, and then failing spectacularly to practice what they preach. It's called hypocrisy (your word of the day on Sesame Street), and these double standards cast a very unflattering light in the eyes of a public jaded by repeated condescension.

The likes of Miriam O'Callaghan went after Woulfe and Phil Hogan with great relish. They need to be held to the same standards. They should all resign immediately, the bunch of hypocrites

I have to admit to being a bit torn on this one. I can’t stand RTE and rarely watch it and have found their behaviour since March reprehensible. I completely get the outrage over the double standards at play here from them and also the link with their hounding during golfgate.However what a terrible society and country we live in now where standing in for a photo with someone is seen as such a crime such a wrong thing to do. There’s probably a bigger issue here that’s developed or at least become apparent to me during this pandemic of people judging, finger wagging, curtain twitching, turning on each other which is unsettling to the extreme. The optics of this are all wrong, personally I don’t take any notice of what the man or the woman on the telly tells me anyway as I can think for myself thankfully but another witch hunt....meh.

What the hell is that? Is the reception area so busy that you need a special supervisor?

I can imagine the wages that go with that job!

Edit: or else its just a fancy title for a person who sits behind the front desk.

It takes little self-awareness to make a statement like that. RTE has been pushing fear porn for months, using snapshots of Ireland to create outrage. So they are the guilty here by not living by their own standards, not us.

The RTE photos could probably be replicated a thousand times a day across the country. Many more are “guilty” of similar covid sins on a daily basis. The latest lockdown is a joke - from what I can see most people are just going about their business as much as they can. It is at the point where we see each other as the problem with the mindset being “everybody needs to stay at home, social distance and not make unnecessary journeys. Everybody needs to do this to stop the Spread of Covid”. That is, everybody except the individual. And because we’re all individuals we see others, particularly groups and crowds as the problem. Plus, we don’t really value the independence and life choices of others as we do our own because most of us put our own little lives first.
In terms of the personalities working for RTE, a lot of them are absolute arse holes pontificating about the dangers of Covid. They’re taking the piss with photos like that and deserve the same ****e that Seamus Wolfe is getting.

To be fair RTE give themselves a dressing down on Radio 1 Playback today. The reporting does make them appear part of the political elite. Errors of judgement just doesn't cut it in level 5.

It’s a good time for a clear out. None of them involved would be much of a loss. Miriam is mediocre, Dobbo is a pain in the hole. Why not get rid of them hold some interviews and get some newbies in on low money.

These individuals are no longer in a position to question or lecture others about Covid.

I watched a clip on the RTE news after David Mc Cullagh apologised .A mans 100th birthday was celebrated with a drive by of neighbours .He had the sense to sit on a chair at a good distance and watch them go by waving and cheering .All the village came in cars with balloons etc and I just thought the ordinary Joe Soap has his head screwed on so much tighter than RTE

RTE don't believe a killer virus is out there that's for sure

Anyone of a working age and healthy should follow RTE's lead and get back to meeting friends and family, have coffees, some cake etc

According to the "rules" a social gathering is not allowed indoors and if there is one, it sure as shyte doesnt allow for that many people.

None of them are working and if that capacity they acted in on the day involves taking photos then they can do that at home, it's not essential.
why do you think the politicians are in the convention centre at times spread out, they want to be seen to be AS compliant as they would like us to be.

I will also say that the BOSS there has huge questions to answer when Tony H is saying he suspects many bosses are forcing workers to come in and do jobs that can be done at home. "the message isn't getting through, if you can work from home, do so"..Blowing up balloons, swigging champers and pulling selfies??really..essential???

There was a photo yesterday with a person in the back round holding a wine glass, more than one.. and a bottle on a table. it was in one of the red tops im sure..No i don't have it here in my back pocket.

There's a picture of the boss and a lady has what looks to be a coffee cup in here hand, blatantly rubbing our noses in it, it's so obviously VODKA.

Nope I checked the red tops, it was a different pic but relating to parties so as to draw comparisons when I'm wrong I say I'm wrong...on the drink anyway.
