I pulled out the external harddrive and it is a bit quicker. It now says it will take 4 hours. It's still crazy slow

I think so yeah. Previously played about 6 hours when it first launched but between the hard crashes, the lack of city life, the dodgy graphics and seeing how it looked on PC made me stop playing. Gave it a couple of hours last night and much more positive experience. Looks a lot better and lots of qol/fixes added. Whether or not it's a good game yet is still to be determined, need to spend more time with it but i think 25 is worth to see what all the fuss is about.

Interested in giving the Cyberpunk trial a to, I think you get up to 5 hours with it? Curious to see how the AI and living world is, bug fixes only do so much when there's not much happening around you in a sandbox game.

Lads anyone have an issue where the PS logo comes up but the screen stays black and the PS pulses blue? I’ve tried google and it’s telling me to try safe mode options (change resolution and rebuild database) but when I select one of those options the screen just goes black again. I’ve tried 2 different TVs now one a 4K one and the other a standard 1080p one, surely there’s another option besides resetting the whole thing?

Did you install a ssd? That's what was happening with mine and didn't work until I removed the SSD.

Nah was away from home for a few days came home and booted it up and was greeted with that. I found a random Reddit comment that said to hard plug it out when it’s on the black screen and that should force a rebuild database when I boot it up next and it worked thank god!

Ive PC and PS5 plugged out. Maybe Im paranoid but I dont think PSUs like storms. Ive lost 2 PSUs before with surges.

Playing through Horizon Forbidden West and it's absolute f*cking dogsh*t. It's objectively the worst game ever made, probably only second to the actual worst game ever made which is Red Dead Redemption 2. Or God of War PS4. Or Ocarina of Time. Or Super Mario 1,2 & 3. Doesn't matter, these peasant games made for simple people with pee pee brains who aren't real gamers™ are all the same anyway. In fact, all AAA games are sh*t and only indie games made by a team of three - and no more than three - tall, skinny white guys with Harry Potter specs, teddy boy haircuts and headboy accents reign supreme now and liking those games makes me better than you and if you disagree then go f*ck a duck because that's how I feel.

Now that your blood pressure has come down... I platinumed Cyberpunk 2077 for the PS5 version and I'm currently playing Horizon Forbidden West and it's safe to say the funk I was in earlier in the year where I could only stomach 3 hour mostly medicore indie games has been cured. Both games are absolutely fantastic and the latter, especially, serving as a reminder of how amazing the open world genre can be. I can never focus on the current objective in the game because I'm constantly distracted by what's on the...horizon. Wonderful stuff. If AAA gaming continues like this we're in for a fantastic 2022. 😁

how did you platinum it so quick? None of my trophies auto popped so have to start a new save.

I'm super paranoid about long games and potentially corrupted save files so I had manual saves all over the place. This meant when going for trophies I was able to just load up the last mission or even the last section of a mission in a quest line and quickly do it again. It also helps that I specced heavily into the technical and intelligence trees and played the game like some sort of hacker wizard which made everything quicker. The former, in particular, allowed me to earn almost 2 million eddies in 3 hours so I could buy all the cars again, as well as enabling me to play it like Deus EX with its shortcuts. Honestly, it was a blast and I love the overhauled skill tree in general.

It doesn't support auto popping at the moment but CDPR are looking into it so make sure you keep your PS4 completed save just in case.

I've everything going through a surge extension so I should be good on that front, but I'm going back to shutting down when I'm finished instead of standby, just to be extra safe. Until that bastard the sun comes out again.

Is the PS5 as temperamental as the PS4 was when power is lost in standby ? I always shutdown the PS5 as I won’t take the chance.

Yup, still puts the shytes up ya with the PS3 era look and text quality, gives out that you didn't shut it down properly, "repairs" the storage and reboots, with a final giving out message!

Where does it freeze for you. When my game loads, there is always like a news segment going on, never see or hear a freeze.

I would buy it instantly if Half Life Alyx was to appear on ps5. But realistically what are the chances?

The game was made to push the Valve Index. Why would or should valve release it on another vr platform. I hope they do but not so sure.

Basically when moving from one section to another, even on a mission. Like when going into another room on the first mission, it'll freeze for a second before I enter. Or when driving around after the first mission, it'll freeze for a second and the audio will keep playing. I think it might be my PS5 though. When I left the game thumbnails etc. in PS Store seemed to be delayed in loading/jittery. I'll restart and take a look later. Could be my aging USB3 hard drive slowing down the internal SD while copying over data or something. The HD has crashed a couple of times

Love that feature. Pics and vids created will be dropped up to 14 days and as long as videos are under 3 minutes. Plenty of pics i wanted to share but did bother with the finicky ps5 sharing.

Quick google suggests actual release date hasn't been announced yet, just 'early 2022'. So I'd imagine next month or maybe April.
