V brief last minute match thread here...

    Teams:
    yfsuCMkU?format=jpg&name=small

    ElfRggEWkAU24aT?format=jpg&name=large

Ireland win the title if winning by 6 points or more including a try scored, or by 7 points or more if we don't score a try.

    Simples!

No there not. France by a big score and 4 tries. 30 odd points

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,559 ✭✭✭✭lawred2

Is it as simple as a seven point win?

Don't like how much the commentators on Virgin afe writing off Frances chances of winning the title.

They need a TBP win of 31 points or more. Their biggest winning margin so far this year has been 13 points, with the 38 points last week being their largest points haul so far this year. Its not impossible that they do it, but it is incredibly unlikely. They are effectively out of it.

La Marseillaise is the best national anthem. But it's really nothing without fans in the stadium to belt it out.

    Great steal from Doris.

Go for points from inside our own half?

    Jaysus.

Points clearly the main focus here with this tactic, not a bad attempt in fairness

He was never going to make that in a million years. Idiotic.

    Oh ffs

Miserably soft. Porter got burned completely

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,635 ✭✭✭dublinman1990

    Aaaahhh......bad start for us.

Oh Ireland please don't waste the opportunity to win the championship tonight. We need you to do well here. It is literally the most easiest big win that you could ever asked for given to you at the last minute. That job is even more significant now within a global pandemic that has f*cked the world so many times over most of the current year. A simple try or two could win it for us lads. C'mon Ireland. Do us proud!

He has the distance and was barely wide - no harm in going for it

    Easily had the distance

It was some wallop. Though I wouldn’t put any money on him in the last 10 minutes.

    Bastard try BTW

Fickou beat Porter and a corner flagging Murray.

Absolutely not their faults. Damage was done by the defensive push inside them.

Like a knife through butter. Not a hand laid on him.

Gonna be picky and say Stockdale should've properly hit Dupont as he was going over the line. Let him run further to get an easier kick in goal.

French player that batted the ball back in stepped in touch first then landed out of touch as well.
    Lineout Ireland.

Obviously there was harm as France scored a try from it

Why do they keep saying that we have to win by 13?

Looked fine to me, would need to see a replay.

Yes because the kick at gila was directly related to the try...

    Has to be a PT

Superb kick, and absolutely brain dead by the French player

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,710 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

    That's a pen try

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,790 ✭✭✭✭Burkie1203

    Pen try yc

Thats not enough for a penalty try. but penalty and yellow only

Has to be a penalty try

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,738 ✭✭✭✭Squidgy Black

Fickou was never going to cover that, Keenan was always going to recover that if it wasn't slapped

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,710 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Keenan's definitely scoring. Fickou is too far away.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,745 ✭✭✭laugh

Haha, English ref team not giving the pen try.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,258 ✭✭✭✭Losty Dublin

The most cynical and stupid penalty try ever to get away with.

He overran it cause he was also pushed in the back by the 15, harsh not to give the penalty try tbh.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,738 ✭✭✭✭Squidgy Black

Don't understand that logic at all when you take the French 14 out of the picture

Back over his head, hard to say whether he would have regathered. Even if he did, it wasn't a sure try.

What a lot of bollix, pen try all day long. The joys of an english ref

That has to be a Penalty try. I happen to think the Yellow Card is harsh, Sonny Bill got one for similar when he switched code because he was used to doing it in league, complete brainfart. Could see the realisation that he'd ****ed up afterwards there.

    Ah well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,710 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Feck off Barnes. If not for the blue knock on Keenan scores.

He's literally on the line as it's knocked away from his hands.

He was pushed which didn't help

That was a clear penalty try to me.

Not often you see an attacking maul mullered like that.
