Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hmm, not sure about that and can't find anything explicitly mentioned in the regs. Suspect as El Duderino says they'll play it on the fly if it comes to that. Now, despite my awful memory I have a vague recollection of them arranging alternatives if the medical helicopter can't fly. That's what the main issue was today

What happens if this persists for FP3, do we go straight into qualifying with no running? Also what happens if qualifying cannot proceed, either on Sat as planned or Sunday morning, how do they classify people?

If quali can't proceed, what are the chances hat the race can proceed? You're talking a very big change in weather happening in the hour before the race to allow that to happen.

I think they changed rules after the Canada race which was delayed for ages by the rain. It messed up TV scheduling so they agreed that it can't run so far over again. So they might delay the race start by a bit bit they would need to be able to do at least half the race distance within 2 hours of the scheduled start time.

The details might not be exactly correct but that's the gist.

But if it's getting that tight then the chancea are they would just pull the plug because chances are the weather isn't going to clear.

I reckon they should run it in reverse first name alphabetical order.

    C'mon Zebastian Vettel!

    Order would be
    Qualifying Saturday
    Qualifying. Sunday morning
    FP3
    Championship standing

There is a four or five hour window to get race in, before it gets dark. The four hour rule counts from race start. After four hours it's over.
For Sunday will be very likely wet or cold and dry.

I hope the race will happen but who knows with how this is unfolding!

It’s a new enough scenario racing here this late in the year. Has a race ever not started and been cancelled due to weather conditions? If not 2020 seems the year of firsts so could link up with it!

Stroll not taking part in FP3 because he's not well apparently. The obvious question now is what if he's not well enough for qualy, Hulk..... Where are you?

He's in the same country, at least. The podium dream is still alive :pac:

Yet another McLaren drivers helmet appreciation post.

I'm sure Daniel will be brilliant when he arrives but I still feel we're going to lose something special when Sainz and Norris are split up.

Go on the Hulk. Really hope he gets to do Quali and the race as well and gets a podium. Would be so delighted for him.
Hope stroll makes a full recovery just not before the weekend is out.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

If any other team had a driver too sick to drive then they wouldn't be able to fit someone in

Knowing Hulk's luck he'll qualify well and Stroll will take the seat back tomorrow (reality probably not allowed post qualifying)

Good to see Sky tackle Hamilton's nonsense claims that the stewards are targeting him unfairly. In short, they aren't

I like Rosberg on Sky. His analysis is usually spot on and he's quite direct. He also likes to call out Croft when he's talking muck or rambling.

Definitely! Croft was rambling a few weeks ago and Rosberg wasn't far off telling him to shut up and to talk racing

You're right. Changing driver after qualifying isn't allowed.

Is Hulk wearing Strolls race suit too? Looks miles too short for him :pac:
