So weather even if it doesn't rain could play a big part this weekend. I mean 8°C is cold , that track in going to be cold .

A Mercedes team member has tested positive for Covid-19, not a driver and they're following the requisite protocols

Ok I have to ask. Why is this round called the Eifel GP? It sounds more French than German and when I heard of it at first that's where I thought of not Germany.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

It's the name of the region in Germany.

Looks like a cold one. Can't wait for the drivers to moan about the tires not working :)

At least Mick is a near shoe in for Alfa Romeo seat, I'd feel much worse for Callum Illot who isn't a guarantee for the Haas seat

BBC having to fill the slot with chat. I love the cricket nonsense talk when they have long periods to fill. The F1 lads aren't as good but now they're asking how the calculate horsepower and what's the horsepower of an actual horse (racing horse vs work horse vs wild horse)

I remember reading somewhere (apologies if it's from this forum) that 1 horsepower is the average output of a horse over the course of a day so 1 horse total output divided by one day. So one horse can put out as much as 12 horsepower at one time but it will also need a rest so it the average output.

I think I would've cringed to death if I was listening to Sky.

Another reason why I dont see any F1 race going ahead in West Kerry

Sky filled the chat with Honda Leaving and may be Redbull buying engine rights and developing it . and some stuff on what F1 could possibly look at for keeping manufactures cause this is really bad.

one or 2 other bits . wasn't too bad as background noise . PaulD never said medium which helps and Ted was limited to standing the rain twice .

If qualy can't take place on Saturday then it would be rescheduled to Sunday morning

I get that part , I am saying if Sunday morning is just as crap ...and they cannot run a Qual ( assuming weather clears up for Race start time ) ..What would decide the grid then .

30min more before an update on if running is allowed ..FP2 is a bust as well

The only thing I can find from google is a 10 year old post on reddit saying it would be championship order if no qualy :pac:

I imagine they would react on the fly to delay quali and try to get the race to start as close to the scheduled time as they can. But if it gets to that point then they would also be considering whether the race can go ahead at all. If there's any doubt about whether there's time to do quali before the race then there's almost certainly doubt about the race unless the wind changes and the sun comes out and the conditions completely change in the hour before the race.

    Nope no running today

  • Registered Users Posts: 21,373 ✭✭✭✭ELM327

This is annoying, no FP1 no FP2

Hopefully it makes the race more interesting with no data

Plus only 5 drivers have raced here in an F1 car iirc, with the potential rain it could be a real good one

Hmm, not sure about that and can't find anything explicitly mentioned in the regs. Suspect as El Duderino says they'll play it on the fly if it comes to that. Now, despite my awful memory I have a vague recollection of them arranging alternatives if the medical helicopter can't fly. That's what the main issue was today
