Pinot's back injury must still be at him, or his bike is set up wrong because he hasn't stopped adjusting his position on the saddle since the stage started.

He's all over the shop on the bike.
Didnt realise it was going through his hometown either, some noise for him

Early in the day yet...but is Cavagnas time looking ridiculously fast? I know it's not your average tt stage with the kick at the end but nobody come remotely near his time yet!

He's getting some cheer from the home crowds.

There's a lot of decent riders who are really trying and getting nowhere near him.

Even VWA is a good bit behind Cavagna at the first time check

From first glance of the stage tracker on procyclingstats you could be forgiven for thinking Dan Martin was going to win on a MTF from a solo breakaway

It looks like Dan actually did a half decent TT

I withdraw my comments from earlier in the week about Tony Martin giving the world's TT a good bash

Because he is doing the worlds he is soft pedalling today ....its only a few days away and he needs the rest

plus the climb does not suit him so why waste energy

Did I read that graphic correctly... Pogacar is 12 seconds up on Rogic already?

    Yeah 12 seconds

Ritchie needs what, 90 odd seconds to take 3rd from Lopez?

He has almost 60 seconds by first check point!

I presume there is no time bonus on this stage?

You'd think they'd give Cavagna a cup of tea and a sandwich at least!:D

It would be unreal if Pog could steal this.

He'll lose some on the climb I think.

Regardless of whether Van AerT makes the podium today or not, Belgium has a new superstar to match the hype of wonder boy Remco !

Van De Poel of Netherlands picked the wrong team

    Compliments on his sponsor

Roglic might win yellow but Van Aert is the man of the Tour.

Team of the Tour has easily been Sunweb . They all had their moments including Nico . Not bad for a team without a GC leader

Van Aert has been outstanding. He would have won the green jersey easily if given the chance, least on the hills

Wonder will he get notions about GC like the Vuelta in time. ? Hope he does more classics . Sean Kelly after all got top 5s and top 10s in tour ,Vuelta and still won green, unlike Sagan

    Dumoulin is gonna smash this.
edit, maybe not. Apparently losing time on Van Aert on the climb. Going to be close

In current form I think porte can match him on the climb, pending bad luck I think porte will take third.

Pogacar has almost half the time back on the road

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,033 ✭✭✭✭Richard Hillman

30 seconds in it. They were saying Pogacar is gaining 1.6s per km. 13km left would mean 20.8s.

Pogacar has to find 9 seconds.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,020 ✭✭✭✭retalivity

This is mad by Pogacar...surely Roglic is holding something back for the climb

Porte riding into 3rd overall here.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,033 ✭✭✭✭Richard Hillman

    Bike swap. The drama :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,478 ✭✭✭at1withmyself

He's taken 36 seconds back so far, jeez this is going to be close

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,010 ✭✭✭velo.2010

Pogacar could win the stage now. Does Roglic forgo the bike swap and save some time that way?

edit, no but the change took longer than Pogacar.

Pogacar has been the best GC rider in the race
It’s a pity the crosswinds will probably cost him
    I’m rooting for him
