We're already getting some news about Christmas and New year runs.

    This too shall pass.

Interesting, no email about it has gone out yet. Guess people are just getting ahead of the game.

I was able to use €55 of the VHI parkrun rewards to buy some new runners on the Irish Adidas site yesterday. Glad to have finally found a use for them.

I was today years old when I found out you could put your parkrun barcode onto your Garmin for scanning. No more forgotten barcode, handy!

use the QR code on your watch rather than the usual barcode, scans much easier, particularly in bright light conditions

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,594 ✭✭✭✭flazio

The 5K app turns your barcode into a QR code, you can also add it as a reward card on Google Wallet but it's a standard barcode. I just use an official wristband myself as I need to have ICE information with me.

    This too shall pass.

I have my ICE listed on my barcode on my Garmin widget on the watch. Plus it can change to a QR at the press of a button

After 12 months of hard work, I've got my parkrun down from 35 mins, to 23.28 as of yesterday. Delighted with my slow progress.

Another parkrun starting soon in Cork with a very flat course on the greenway.

Is it just me or does that read like a transcribed voice note?

Anyway great to see another event get started. Don't suppose the Greenway is called the "Youghal Greenway" by any chance? It's going to be the Midleton (Greenway) Parkrun isn't it?

    This too shall pass.

I can guarantee you 100% it won't be called the Youghal Greenway parkrun 🙂

Looks like a lot of cancellations already announced for tomorrow, lot of the Cork ones off with the red weather warning. Id say check your parkruns social media in the morning if you're planning on attending

The 5K app is just a sea of red dots. Might try to pass myself off as a child at a junior run tomorrow 😛

    This too shall pass.

Just 2 finishers on Inch Beach yesterday and 2 volunteers!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 740 ✭✭✭Duzzie

there was one in USA this week that had 1 finisher. Can't recall which it was though.

Edit: it was Katy Trail parkrun. Had 3 finishers this week but just the one last week. Seems to be a good place to go for a high finish position

Darndale had 2 finishers on one occasion, but had 9 volunteers! I guess Inch wins smallest ever Irish parkrun.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 740 ✭✭✭Duzzie

AFAIK, approval to use the venue fell through so they do they are looking for a new location.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,747 ✭✭✭corcaigh07

Anyone know of a way of finding out who ran the most and who volunteered the most at your home event this year (without trawling through each run in the event history)?

    No.

There used to be many years ago via the points table, but they stopped that. Events who still like to report on such things manually keep their own copies of the results in a spreadsheet each week and can then manipulate it how they like for lots of interesting stats at the end of the year.
