Is there no black card at minor ? felt we could have had 2 in our favour ,ref didnt do us any favours

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,978 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

We didn't make a sub which was usual

    Brilliant, Brilliant, Brilliant.

Great to have a bit of hope again after some very disappointing seasons at senior level. Some great prospects on show there . Cormac Spain is worth his weight in gold.

    UP THE DEISE.

No sub brought on was bad form I felt, surely 1 or 2 at least could have been put on. Will Joxer move up to the 20s I wonder?

At the end of the day the final was there to be won, that’s the managements job. when we were winning every single battle on the field why would you change anything? The only player I would have subbed off was Spain actually, I thought it was irresponsible to leave the young fellah on playing through the pain barrier, even when the game was won

Hopefully its true about the homecoming in Walsh Park tomorrow. Lads deserve it fully

Few sneaky cans for the lads 😄

Lovely stuff. A good tonic after a barren few years at all ages. Conditions weren't great. Probably "dampened" the atmosphere a bit. Surprised Cormac finished off the game after his injury. He would have got a good applause if he was subbed off.

Can only play what's in front of you but it would have been interesting to see how it would have went if it was a third meeting against Cork.

Outstanding stuff. Defensive was outstanding never gave them anything. Let's hope we can be a consistent presence at the top of the minors and under 20s

Ballygunner won the Féile only last week ,and by a huge margin (3-11 to 0-04)

DLS college won munster u15 earlier in the year https://www.wlrfm.com/sport/de-la-salle-white-cup-460696

DLS also lost to eventual harty winners this year https://www.irishexaminer.com/sport/gaa/arid-41559496.html .

There's a great groundswell right now

Fantastic. Got soaked but so well worth it. Young lad was in his element. Very well done to all, scoring blitz in first half and some serious defensive performances in the second.

Homecoming tomorrow in Walsh park. Gates open 11.15. team arrive 12

Well done today lads enjoy it and hopefully it drives on more sucess for whats coming behind.

Cork would have been out to the sword aswell don’t worry, these lads were not going to be beaten today.

Even better to know the game was in the bag with ten mins left. So rarely happens Waterford in a big game at any grade

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,978 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

    Mentally was ignoring that stat

Thought a Clare goal was coming early in the second half

Team in the woodlands now I think. Damian Tiernan was almost in the team bus

Congrats to Waterford from a rebel fan. While our lads beat Waterford twice in Munster I don’t think they would have lived with Waterford today. They were outstanding and peaked at the right time I’m delighted for them. It’ll take a few years but some of those lads look like great prospects for senior.

We will be welcoming home the victorious Minor hurlers at 12 noon in Walsh Park tomorrow, Sunday.

Please note gates will open at 11am and we would ask those attending to park responsibly by using either Mount Sion GAA Club, Presentation Secondary School, Waterford Shopping Centre or any of the city centre car parks.

There will be road closures in the vicinity of Walsh Park which include:

    Keanes Road

    Slieavekeale Road

    Tycor Road

    Vincent White Road

We look forward to seeing big Deise support in Walsh Park.

What a team, what a display and what a win. Congrats to all involved, they are a credit to their county. Badly needed that shot in the arm and hopefully we get a few lads that filter through to senior in a few years. It gives hope and optimism which is all we can really ask for. They are all a credit to their county. Absolutely delighted.

    Up the Deise!

The examiner.......Across the 2022, ‘23, and ‘24 campaigns, Waterford minor teams played 13 championship games and lost 11

    That's the stat, some turnaround

Congrats to all involved on the victory against a very good Clare team. We're not a County blessed with loads of success but this team gives me hope for the future. Congrats to Joxer and all the clubs who contributed to a fantastic result!

Great win yesterday. The game was really over at half time as couldn't see Clare making up 10 points especially in a 30 minutes half when Waterford were on top all over the field. Some super scores especially in the 1st half and the last 2 points from Spain and Power were great team scores. Nice to see an All Ireland win after a few bad years at senior and underage level and hopefully we'll get a good few of these lads through to senior in a few years.

A very well run homecoming in Walsh Park today. Credit where it's due

The game was won, surely you can see the point that they could have got 1 or 2 lads on heading into injury time, it was dissapointing. Even Spain deserved a standing ovation if they could have got him off before the finish. Nobody askin for changes with 10 mins left could have easily got 3 lads in for injury time. It was very strange to be honest. Don’t know had they anyone warming up. Looked like possibly Joxer was caught up in the emotion of winning and forgot about it.
