Anyone got any interviews for Senior ICT Specialist (HEO)– Infrastructure and Operations role this week?

Not me I'm afraid. To anybody who has had an interview or is due to have an interview for any of the streams, at what point did PAS let you know who your panel members were?

I was told at the end of December who they would be

"I am pleased to inform you that you are under consideration for a position as as Senior ICT Specialist – Transformation and Business Engagement, Office of the Government Chief Information Officer"

I have just received the mail. I'm assuming its Dublin based so I have replied to find out.. I wont be accepting if its Dublin based .. although if its a remote until further notice I could consider.

Well done anyways, be nice for you if it was remote.

Are they contacting you for references or anything?

There is nothing about references on the email but the Garda vetting, health declaration, document request for educational certs are all attached to the email

    Cool.

Again well done, be nice if they could offer remote for you. Shame the majority of positions are Dublin based.

Got the offer myself for OGCIO which I figured it would be for. Definitely taking it, it's the one I wanted

Would advise if people offered same and in position to take it, to take it. A lot of projects will originate in OGCIO for across the Government

Did they respond to you regarding office location? I've received a similar email and am wondering whether I can save myself the hassle of filling out the forms as I'm also not interested if the role is in Dublin.

"No, while there is currently no Remote Working protocol in place and in line with public health advice, employees can work from home. When it is safe to do so, and in line with public health advice employees will be expected to be available to work in the office, as the needs arise.”

& he said I can be kept on the panel for my chosen locations.
I haven't replied.. Im still thinking this through.. Remote could be for another year or so.. Who knows & transfers are possible & as above poster has said the department is an interesting one to get experience in..

Was there an option on the short application form to select locations?

    Hi,

Does anyone know how long the vetting process takes?

  • Registered Users Posts: 554 ✭✭✭brownbinman

I was emailing PAS as I lost my transcripts. They said it's no panic getting that in on time once other stuff is in. They also said they'll be waiting on vetting in the meantime, which takes a few weeks anyway

So in short, a few weeks

Did they specifically ask you for transcripts of exam results from your degree? I don't recall seeing any mention of that in the booklet. I graduated in the 1990s and while I do have the parchment in a drawer somewhere, I'd have a hell of a time trying to source transcripts.

College administration should be able to provide this. They're well used to it.

"original academic qualifications" Not the parchment drawer

I emailed DCU about mine, takes a week or two as they're not in office this week. They'll send them out, think it'll be A4 size. Vetting and all takes few weeks so PAS said it's no bother once I get the other stuff in

    Oh cool,

Has your department contacted your go arrange a start date?

  • Registered Users Posts: 30 proFriendL

No, not yet for me, I'm private sector so I gave them my reference contact details yesterday not from my current employer as I haven't handed in my notice yet. Hopefully will hear something today.

Cool, hopefully all goes well, so have you decided to go remote then considering your not Dublin based?

  • Registered Users Posts: 30 proFriendL

I haven't decided yet, I should get details on the job itself and hiring manager once the formal offer comes through.. I will ring them and hopefully figure things out then. If the job is 100% office based in Dublin then I will decline and stay on the regional panel for my preferred locations.

Its a tough situation to be in

The way things remote work should be accepted as it would remove the dreaded Dublin only vacancies

Anyways, best of luck and hopefully something will work out for you

Thanks hopefully it works out, which dept. did you get offered?

Any word about interviews for the reserve panel for HEO ICT Infra stream?

Or are all the vacancies filled up by the first batch itself?
