    Sagan's way back!

That’s some consolation for Sam anyway

Who said Sagan was "undercooked and overfed" yesterday?
    Even with the bump, but...

Did he drift and elbow someone then complain like he was not at fault?

Ha Sagan didnt finish it off ...wonder if Bora burnt themselves for no Green this year

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,016 ✭✭✭Itziger

The Bora lads won't be too impressed with Sagan's sprinting!!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,599 ✭✭✭happytramp

WVA a threat for Green? He's in 3rd now. Hopefully he's back on dom duties for the next two weeks.

Sagan lost his chain apparently. If that's true then wouldn't be too quick to be writing him off

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,599 ✭✭✭happytramp

Sagan's mechanical apparently. Possibly dropped chain.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,331 ✭✭✭✭dastardly00

    Dropped chain for Sagan apparently.

So I think he scored 4 points at the finish, so he's 8 ahead of Sam?

    1 Peter SAGAN PETER SAGAN 21 BORA - HANSGROHE 138 PTS -
    2 Sam BENNETT SAM BENNETT 43 DECEUNINCK - QUICK - STEP 129 PTS -
3 Wout VAN AERT WOUT VAN AERT 18 TEAM JUMBO - VISMA 106 PTS

I would make Sam favourite from this position. Scant reward for Bora after all the hard work today

He's 9 ahead of Sam, but this is a much better result than we could have hoped for! 138 v 129

Apparently he unclipped and that was what he was upset with.

Van Aert would rate a danger in the green jersey competition if he wasn't in demand as a deluxe climbing domestique this year.

Van Aert's contract is up next year; he could name his own price. How deep are Jim Radcliffe's pockets? Brailsford would be desperate to sign a rider of that all round ability.

Van Aert could realistically take the 20 points on offer after the Cat 1 on Sunday. Sam needs max from the intermediate tomorrow to close the gap on Sagan and keep some distance between himself and WVA.

Van Aert should be riding for Aquablue

Crazy stat time. WvA has 17 pro wins since 2016. 7 of them have been in the last 5 weeks.

He must have really upped the training intensity OR SOMETHING.

Not unusual to see a performance increase in a rider when they hit their mid 20s to early 30s
