There of course should be people of colour represented on adverts and others as reflects society’s demographic breakdown. But that’s not what happens.

How many mixed race couples are there with a black male ? Yet that’s the couple you see most often on TV etc
The Amazon ad with the ballet dancer on the roof. A whole high rise block with only black people living in it, talk about a ghetto

Mainly because the Black man is both fetishised and feared in Western culture(mostly US culture which spread this elsewhere). The Black woman by comparison is almost entirely absent from that*. Like I noted earlier African American women commentators have pointed this out for a good while. Observe the earlier pics from Gov.ie. Every "diversity" box ticked, but not a single Black woman in the mix. They're as invisble as White men in many ways. Which should tell us quite a bit.

Hell, you can even see this in porn produced by and aimed at a Western/US audience. "Interracial" porn is almost entirely made up of Black men and as White as possible women, with both elements of the fetish and the fear mixed in(cuckold porn for example). Is there even a category for the reverse of Black woman and White man? Maybe the more advanced onanists can help here.

Black women appear to have neither the fetish nor the fear in the mix and are also deemed not photogenic or saleable enough. Even White enough. Look at the skin lightening creams and hair straightening products and who are they most aimed at? It's not dark skinned men. Save for a brief and fringe as far as the mainstream goes moment in the late 60's and early 70's, when was the last time you saw a Black woman in western media of any sort with her natural curly afro hair? Their dark skin is regularly photoshoped to be lighter too and the more light skinned she is to start with the better.

*It wasn't always like that. In 19th century European cultures it was more likely to be the Black and mixed raced woman that was fetishised as the "exotic". QV Gauguin and the like.

I don't see a problem with that. It's a bloody cartoon, who gives a **** if the voice actress has red hair?

I received a card in the post today with something I felt was quite woke:rolleyes: . The over-representation and push of the minority in Ireland, as if they are trying to drip-feed the multiculturalism ideology on us. Through news media, state television, radio and now stamps:pac: It's always the one culture and minority tho. It reminds me of when my mate (who is Irish, whose parents are Chinese) said that you never see any efforts or representation for the Asian community like you see afforded to black people in Ireland. Same with other ethnic minorities whose parents immigrated to Ireland. In a book of 20 stamps, the majority is one picture and six stamps to for the nativity. They could of done it where int was inclusive of other minorities.

What's the N on the stamp?

We are expected to believe that Ireland has always been like that.

Frankly I am just not finding the scene believable. The absent father rings true I suppose.

Tbh you just sound like a dick there.

National standard postage, or something like that... I think it's so if they put up the price and you have unused stamps at home, you can use them without having to buy a 5 cent stamp or whatever

The ironic thing is that a member of Istanbul's bench was heard referring to Sebastian Coltescu as a "gypsy" before the incident happened. Not as much uproar about that for some reason.

Wrong place, wrong time comes to mind as well. There was an incident involving the opponents PSG earlier in the season where a Marseille player was accused of racially abusing Neymar. So PSG were more than willing to take this stand with Istanbul leading to the postponement of the game. It's possible that a walk-off would've happened no matter what in any case but it was always going to happen what with the residual bad blood carried by PSG after that game.

Ironic thing, again, is that Neymar was accused of making a homophobic insult towards the player who's alleged to have racially abused him. Again, not as much uproar about that.

Maybe the abuse of gypsies and LGBT people isn't as sexy and topical as the abuse of black people.

It's worth mentioning as well that a Chelsea player, Antonio Rudiger, accused a section of Tottenham fans of racially abusing him but there was no evidence found of any racism after an investigation.

Coltescu is said to have attempted suicide twice in his past. It would be a shame if this witch hunt encouraged him to try again.

You take issue with someone using the word 'gypsy' (presumably in Turkish) and then try to make a point about abuse of 'gypsies' (with no quotes).

    Hilarious stuff.

I’m still not right, but it’s description of that cover is absolutely spot-on! Bizarre having them pose like that with their hands in the guys pocket in front. Reminded me of the way my old man to get me to take my hand out of my pockets he’d say to me “You playing pocket billiards or what are you at?” :D

He might sound like a dick but in multicultural societies throughout the West the stats show that those of African origin are most likely to grow up in single parent families(almost always mothers), Asians the least likely with Europeans somewhere in the middle. This hierarchy stays the same for rates of teenage pregnancy, educational levels, unemployment and criminality too.

Interestingly in African nations themselves this is not the case and their rate of single parent families are significantly lower than the diaspora and lower than Western Whites with it. Asian nations are lower than the already low stats for the Asian diaspora but it seems Asian cultural values stay stronger regardless of where they find themselves.

I had a similar thought. :D If I ever find another bloke's hand in my pocket it's either because he's after my wallet, or his gaydar is away getting serviced. Or both.

More of a socio-economic reason than a “race” one, no?

Even adjusting for economics the ratios remain the same. As I also pointed out it isn't a "race" thing as Africans in Africa show very different stats.

It's entirely a trend in multicultural western societies. Racism in multicultural western societies? Certainly a factor, but that doesn't explain how the Indian diaspora do better than the Pakistani diaspora. Same race. Or how Swedish Americans do better than Italian Americans, both White. Or how the East Asians diaspora do better than even the European diaspora.

Old episode of Judge Judy this week.

How is a black person saying “who care bout these white people problems??” allowed?? Imagine if it was the other way round???!!

The stench of the rampant hypocrisy is breathtaking.

I haven’t read up on the subject but I’d have thought that European migrants, say to America, would have all, for the most part, started off around the same level. Meanwhile, blacks would still have been slaves in some parts and treated almost as such in others.

Add on a generation, or two, and you’d have some form of “legacy” wealth building up. European migrants would then have become established and moved about the country while blacks would have been “ghettoised” more than any others and for longer. Even the migrants from the Indian subcontinent and Chinese, while not being treated very well, still weren’t legally slaves.

So then the black Africans, effectively, become “the poor” or lower class as the race had begun before they’d had a chance to line up.

But, again, I’ll bow to greater knowledge on the subject. Just seems like it’s, generally, the poor who get the abuse about single parent families, and the likes. Sure listen to folk on here banging on about lower elements of our own, white, society, who churn out kids from various partners for the “free house” and “mickey money”.

Across from the Northside Shopping Centre in Coolock is a small collection of estates built during the rapid sprawl of the city in the late 60s – and these new estates had to be named.

The inspiration for this one is clear. You’ll find Apollo Way, Armstrong Walk, Aldrin Walk, Eagle Park, and Tranquility Grove.

Sort this one out for me - Ru Paul’s Drag Race; competition for men in drag.

New contestant - a trans man, i.e, a woman. So no unfair advantage there eh ??

Do you look for more than looks in a relationship, or maybe you are just not horny? Then you identify as a 'demisexual'.

I think you're confused. One of the Istanbul substitutes was heard derogatorily referring to Coltescu as a gypsy (which he isn't). Not that hard to understand, surely.
