Not attacking your post or anything but I was surprised when I checked that Spurs have only played 1 game more than Liverpool this season. 20 for Spurs, 19 for Liverpool. I had assumed that Spurs had played a lot more because of the Europa League campaign but they also got a bye in the League Cup so had one game removed there.

I was not counting the Community Shield as Liverpool played Blackpool afterwards and the shield game was 2 weeks before league start.

Spurs played 20 competitive games since weekend of 12th of Sept when the league started compared to Liverpool or Chelsea's 18 in that time which is why I thought it was significant (while they progressed in both cups also).

For a Team joint first that 2 beside their name says differently :pac:

Fulham must be dreading next week. Can't see anything but a battering. Zaha FC V Spurs should be quite good.

It's the type of game you could see Spurs dropping points

    No Alisson.
    No Van Dijk.
    No Thiago.
    No Problem.

64 Premier League games unbeaten at home, fortress Anfield.

Joint top of the league on points.

    The crisis at Liverpool continues.

    They are second.

Both of these things are true :)

I was going to highlight to him that I did say 'on points' but then I thought no, let him have his moment.

Tom was a man on a mission tonight, good man Tom!

What happens if Kane or son get injured

I hope the people pushing this narrative aren’t the same dopes who were pushing the “Spurs are better without Kane” nonsense a couple of years ago. “But the stats say so even if I’m adding no other context like who the opponents are”.

It’s the same drivel Redknapp was pushing today. “The only difference between Spurs and Arsenal is Son and Kane.” Well no Jamie. A Jose team doesn’t get caught 5 on 2 or allow a fella in form to get 20 yards from goal and shoot unchallenged. There’s a bit more to it than “Son and Kane” as brilliant as they are.

Son or Kane get injured, Spurs will cope. They’ll still have goals in the team. The key will be continuing to be defensively solid in a league where most teams look anything but.

What's he saying Hello for? 23 goals in 114 games. Chap needs to focus on goals than greetings

We sort of discussed this the other week. But saying you'll cope meaning what? Top 4? There's no way in a million years I could see Spurs challenging for the league without them. With them absolutely

Son doesn't really have a bad injury record that I recall so no fear there. Just about Kanes Ankle holding up then barring anything shocking

If both get injured at the same time it’ll be a problem. One or other gets injured, Spurs will still compete with anyone. But if Salah and Mane get injured together or Sterling and Aguero get injured together, City and Liverpool struggle.

There’s also more chance of Bale starting to fire again than Kane and Son being injured at the same time so if that happens, it’ll be pretty good cover if one does get injured. They key will be maintaining defensive solidity.

Everyone says this early in he season every year and it rarely ever is, far more likely a team wins fairly comfortably in the end.

That abhorrence of the villa game is annoying. 7 goals behind 1st because of it:(

You have to hand it to Liverpool, first team to ever suffer multiple injuries and still win some games. Also first team to ever be top of the league while in second place, amazing

Time to end this taking the knee it's lost all meaning at this stage and just become part of the pre match routine. I would broadly agree with the Millwall supporters group too that BLM is a political movement and shouldn't be part of football. Time for the PFA to come together and think of some other way.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,428 ✭✭✭✭gimli2112

as a general rule of thumb if you're on the side of Millwall fans, you're on the wrong side of the argument

Ya fair enough I expected that reply. I don't condone the booing obviously but it needs to be scrapped its lost all meaning.

Taking the knee was supposed to be a powerful moment and it was the first 5 times. If football is serious about tackling racism this isn't the answer.

It starting to get into poppy territory now.
You don't want to take the knee after 4 months of taking the knee? You are obviously a racist-commie-fascist who hates freedom and equality.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,166 ✭✭✭✭rob316

At first it was like a minute long now it's about 5 seconds, you can see the players are fed up of it but have to be shown they are doing something

It's hardly a big toll on players lives to kneel. Theres merit in keeping the message in peoples minds when the problem is still very much prevalent in society. You'll have a million better causes in life than trying to force an argument against the kneel. Dont be *that* guy.

Kane could well get a 3 game suspension, if referees ever started to wake up and actually call his actions where he is putting opponents in serious danger. Then again he is England captain so it will continue to get brushed under the carpet and be called 'smart play'.....

What he's doing is dangerous though. He could seriously hurt someone or himself if someone lands funny on him.

You can always tell when rival fans are getting seriously worried about a challange when they get heavily invested in righteous causes of holding players from the other team to account. Jose has some of yee running scared :pac:

I suppose you'll be finding something wrong or dangerous with the way Son is playing or hojbjerg or ndombele?
    Ya must be getting worried!

Great banter. Put whatever spin you want on it, what Kane does, backing into players who are jumping, is incredibly dangerous.

I don't support any PL team and I agree that what Kane's doing is completely reckless and refs need to start penalising it.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

To be fair what Kane does is very dangerous

I wouldn't be surprised if an opposition manger brings it up , its the only way he'll start getting booked for it,

The one he done against Westham was close to a red card offence for me , he could have easily badly hurt Creswell and he done it on purpose ,
