    Big loss for Spurs

Mad thinking Spurs threw a 3-0 win to WH away for it to finish 3-3

This City performance is not the kinda one you want to see the week Guardiola signs a new contract. Terrible for the majority of the game, Neville seems to think they were good in the first half, maybe he was watching a different game but I would agree that everything they do now is very slow in comparison to 2 years ago when they had Sane, a good Bernardo Silva & Aguero instead of Jesus.

And that crazy end against Newcastle with that peno that never was, they really should be a good few points clear. Have given both Manchester sides a good hiding too now.

And a last minute peno to Newcastle in a game they dominated

Aye. 2 close friends of mine are Spurs fans and I'd be delighted for them. Same way they look for Everton to do well for me.

Annoying thing is we always call them Spu*s so I always have to correct it on boards :pac:

The title race will be exciting this year.

Chelsea and Spurs are looking competitive, while the loss of Van Dijk is jarring for Liverpool.

80-85 points might be enough this year.

Yeah have found myself rooting for them since watching the Amazon documentary. Of all football docs they really came across as a likeable bunch

It's that sort of event that still stops me from really considering them as genuine title challengers in the longer term. Like Utd, and 2018 Liverpool, they look better when they can sit back and break against really good teams, but I'm not as convinced they'll be as consistent when they have to be more expansive and attacking against smaller teams. It's how they perform against the likes of Palace, West Ham, Everton, Villa, Brighton, Leeds, Southampton etc that will determine their season I think.

I'm baffled Pep signed a new contract, he looks like he has been burnt out since last Decemeber.
That City team wont scare anyone this season, its a shadow of what it was a few years ago.

I've a feeling that Spurs will beat Man City today.

Typical Jose sit back and 3 counter attacks. The Spurs players seem to that clinical form where they only need the couple of chances. They are well used to the Jose set up now and the wildcard in Bale too off the bench.

Not quite the manner of victory I thought but they did the win.

Spurs are going to be a big threat this season and will have a say in the title race.

    Great interview from Kane.

He seems delighted with the shift he put in today, great performance from him.

To be fair to them they've only conceded one goal in four since that and beaten 3 sides of that ilk you mentioned. As reactions go you cant ask for much more.

I'd say a deep run in the Europa will be more damaging to them than anything as playing Thursday football is never conducive to winning leagues

How long before kevin de bruyne has a desire to compete at top level. I mean 4 Pesi Cola Cups is not exactly a Legacy compared to Ronaldo, 5 CL, 4 Club World Cups, 2 Super Cups, 7 League Titles, Euro's with Portugal and a long list of individual honors .
29 now, seems a waste not to be moving to a top club. Ronaldo has won as many league titles with Juve, than De Bruyne has with City, and he's at City a long time now.

Just about every player's list of achievements is going to look bad compared to Ronaldo's. Bit of an unfair comparison.

    Nice one Spurs.

Spurs have scored more and conceded less than anyone. Jose will be hard to budge from the top of the league.
    9-1 into 5-1 now /

Ronaldo places himself at the right clubs though. If he left Juve he'd probably go to PSG and win another 4 titles.

    I don't get your point.

KDB would walk into any club if he wanted

That's funny, I found the opposite... not that they were unlikable, but just that the doc didn't give me much. It felt very held at arms length and media managed, and very Jose-centric, with lots of him yelling about 'having balls' and 'being bastards'. Not to mention that ridiculously staged office-TV scene.

But not a mention of him very publicly destroying Ndombele, or of him taking players to break quarantine during lockdown.

The previous one with City was the same... in general, I just think the "All or nothing" brand is a bit crap. Enjoyed the Sunderland and Leeds ones much more.

I think that is the point though. KDB could, but hasn't.

Ronaldo has picked his moves well for max career success. But on the other side of it, he's been key to that success at each club.

I think KDB made the right choice going to City though - if you looked at the pieces in place, with Pep all set to join at the time, you've have given them as high a likelyhood as anyone else of having some success in Europe.

I suppose now he has to ask himself the question of it he commits his final peak years to them, or makes a move somewhere else. In the current climate though, big question over who could afford him.

If City sign Messi who's place in the team does he take.

Does everything then go through Messi and not KDB.

Kev the Red needs one final move to achieve true greatness ;)

KDB plays deep enough that there's room for both. Was plenty of room for Iniesta, Xavi and Messi for instance.

I would expect Messi to play where he currently does, taking Aguero's spot. Sterling one side, and Torres the other, doing all the running in behind.

Great decision to be fair. The ref has been one of the better ones all season.
