I just passed an ESB crew working on faults, looks like they'll be there all night

Fair play to them. Earning their bread tonight!

We weren't expecting to be back until tomorrow but got power back about 3pm.

Very limited power though - some lights and appliances not working.

Seems as bad here in East Clare than last night...definitely more sustained wind.

Much worse in Dublin tonight than last night but this was expected in fairness.
Wind is getting worse. Expect a wild night in the east.

Fairly rapid flashes of lightning and thunder here east cork.

On the west cork coast atm, can see lightning out at sea towards kinsale/cork city direction . Might be heading up to the city.

Mustn’t be too bad all the same when you’ve time to post on boards.

You CBear1993 are a bit of tool IMO! I had screaming kids and literally floods of water pouring in my house while savage winds took part of my roof off.

Please tell me what I should have done after consoling my kids during 100kmph+winds battered my home and took a section of my roof? I posted as the TV & electricity was gone, I made a temp fix by putting some buckets down and mopping the floor. I needed a release after all that and you put me down! It was 12 hours after that that mobile signal and electricity returned.

    Thanks for the compassion!

Serious lightning show here at the moment with torrential rain. Will hamper any crews working let's hope they are taking shelter.

There's always one, wonder how he would feel if he went through what happened to you. Best to ignore him. Stay safe

Fairly rough now in South Carlow. Lashing rain, very gusty.

Rain sounds like a train travelling down the tracks.
Wind sounds worse than last night.

Continuously welded track or jointed track (clickety clack type sound) ? I'm trying to imagine the sound of what you're hearing in my head. Sounds a bit scary, in any case! A much quieter night South of you, just beyond the Kildare border.
